Wow Kate and I were both so shocked by the number of comments. We had a great birthday weekend together, on Saturday night her boyfriend had arranged for everyone to Caesars River boat just a little jaunt from our home. My mother, DH and myself, Kate and her boyfriend, and his mom and dad all met for dinner and a little gambling. Now, this is not something I normally do, I personally would rather spend $20 for new rubber or a round of golf, and not waste my money on one-arm bandits in a dark/dreary location. But since this was a special occasion, I sucked it up, took my $20 and headed to the slots. I found a fun little machine right behind my mother, and stuck in my money. I hit a couple of times – but like most of my experiences the funds were starting to dwindle down below the $20 I started with. One more pull I told myself – hit the max bet button, gave a spin – and HIT! $100 and I cashed out! Now my mother was also up about $110 over her initial $20 and she was still playing strong. When she reached $100 left, she cashed out too. After we left the cashier window, we stuck our winnings back in our wallets all except $20. Headed promptly to the $1 slots and lost all $20 in just about 15 minutes. We consider ourselves quite lucky that we came out on top for the evening, both making about $60 each. Kate and DH both lost $30 and no, I did not offer to share mine (I need to make a run to the LSS sometime this week)! Not to let the birthday weekend go to waste, we all headed over to mom’s new digs (pictures will follow later in the week for all of you who have followed my mother’s saga on the stalker threads) for chili, cake and ice-cream! Needless to say, Kate is just a little partied out tonight!
