Well it’s Tuesday, and I’m still Sydney sitting while Kate works. Not easy to get stamping done when you’ve got a puppy under your feet every time you turn around. Poor thing almost got stepped on a couple of times this morning! It’s also Color Challenge day on Splitcoast. Cool colors today. I didn’t think I was going to like them, but hey – not too bad together! Today’s Challenge is to use Cool Caribbean, Cranberry Crisp, More Mustard and Old Olive (optional). Best of Cluck just happened to be out on my counter this morning, so that was the first set I reached for. The image is stamped on watercolor paper with Black Stazon and then water colored with reinkers. Once again I used Flannel Plaid as my background (think I probably need to look for some more rustic background stamps). Instead of brads today, I used twine in each of the corners, and then ran it around the layer, tying it off on the right side. Had some little spools of wire that I thought might add an interesting look, and wrapped a few pieces of that around the twine. The Happy Birthday tag is made using a piece of scrap of the watercolor paper, punched out with the word punch, hand wrote the sentiment and then layered. Ran a little piece of wire through the top and attached it to the twine. Most of the edges have been distressed using the edge of my little scissors and then sponged with Ranger Walnut Distress Ink. Little different for me today, but it was fun just playing around.

  1. Such a pretty card, but what caught my attention was the idea of wrapping a bit of wire around the twine. It’s that little “extra” that you do that make your cards so special. I love checking out your blog every day.

  2. OHHHHH!!!! I love this set and really like how the wire on the twine gives it the “barbed wire” look!!!

  3. Sherri, I really like these colors together…maybe it is the way YOU put them together. My favorite stamp set…cute card.
