After running around like a chicken with my head cut off yesterday, I’m hoping for a little studio time today. So far so good! I checked in on the Splitcoast Color Challenge this morning and my first thoughts about the colors were yuck. But then I realized that the purpose of the challenge was to make sympathy cards for families of a few Virginia Tech victims. One of our fellow SCS’ers has volunteered to give cards to two families that are co-workers of her husband’s family. May our thoughts and prayers be with these families.

I colored the petals of the flower with Pumpkin Pie, highlighting sections with Bravo Burgundy, and colored the stem and leaves with Always Artichoke. I misted the stamp with water and then stamped the image three consecutive times on Whisper White cardstock. The edges of the flower panel are sponged with Bravo Burgundy. I inked the background panel is Well-Worn Words inked in Pumpkin Pie and Bravo Burgundy inked around the edges. It was then stamped on Whisper White. Wanting for depth to the panel, I used a sea sponge and sponged Bravo Burgundy very lightly over the entire panel. Once that was dry, I sponged the edges with a little more Bravo Burgundy. The sentiment is stamped in Bravo Burgundy and the edges are also sponged and the panel is mounted on dimensionals.
