Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day. I was able to hibernate in the studio all day, got a lot of stamping done and hope today turns out the same way.

While doing my morning cruising on Splitcoast, I decided to check in on today’s Try a New Technique Challenge. Valerie Stangle (11Valerie11) is guest hostess this morning and the challenge is to make her Morning Warm Up Cards. I had forgotten how much fun 3×3 cards can be. As a matter of fact, my first swaps I ever participated in were 3×3 cards – they were sooooo much fun!

I had Green Thumb by Papertrey Ink sitting out on my counter (waiting for a little inspiration) and decided it to give it a go this morning. The first thing I did was punch out my black piece using the scalloped square punch and then measured for my white image piece. I stamped the berries in Real Red and the tops in Garden Green. The sentiment is stamped in Black Stazon and the doodles are drawn in black gel pen. Using my Signo While Gel Pen I decided to add a few dots around the scalloped edges. Of course, I still had to add another layer (being true to myself) and decided that the Cuttlebug Swirl embossing folder looked like the swirls on the berry caps. I cut a piece of white cardstock to the size I needed and ran it though the Cuttlebug and then mounted it on black cardstock. The image panel is raised on mounting tape.

Thank You Berry Much
