I finally made it home today. Rather tired and definitely in a comatose state. We left for the airport this morning around 7:15 and by the time we got everything together, I just made my flight. I have to tell you, trying to check in a rental car is definitely not fun and very unorganized. They had us running from the Terminal Desk to the Garage and back to the Terminal Desk – if we had to make one more trip across I think I would have screamed! Then, giving the goodbye hugs to Jeanne, Kim and her daughters (who are so adorable) I headed off to security. Long lines, everyone being told to move to the right, they thought there was something funny in my purse. Yep, had to have it personally checked. They zoomed right in on the sunglasses, and opened that case up, only to find a pair of prescription sunglasses! Then I think just to delay me a little longer, he opened up all the papers to look at them, flipped through my books, took their sweet time. I understand that security is important, but sunglasses and books. Yep Bad Sherry, terrorist in action —- duh! Had to catch the tram and run to the gate – I made it right at the end of A Boarding – whew 5 minutes to spare! The challenge now – to find somewhere to put all the new goodies.

To catch you up, Sunday was the last day and what fun Jeanne and I had! We told ourselves we were not going to buy any new stamps – BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! We wanted to look at the accessories and make and takes. Well guess what – yep, more stamps and a few accessories!

We did run into a few Splitcoasters on Sunday – it is so nice to be able to put faces with names! As you can tell, we were having a wonderful time.

Rockettes

So as you can see, someone mentioned Rockettes and that’s all it took. Legs went up and we were grasping knees, laughing the entire time! Not one of us were a bit shy. Left to right we have Kim van der Sanden from My Favorite Things, Me, Kirsten DuBosque (Ked on SCS), Jeanne, and Mimi Hornberger (solrbunny on SCS). We did draw quite a bit of attention – IMAGINE THAT!!!!

Mimi

Mimi was just too cute and way too funny! It’s a shame these girls weren’t around on Saturday – I doubt the hotel could have handled it all actually!

Kirsten

Here Jeanne and I are with Kirsten! Looking forward to spending more time with these girls!

Well, that’s about it for Stampfest Orlando 2007. Although I must say that I had absolutely wonderful time. It was like I had known Jeanne for years and we started off talking and didn’t end til I got on the plane. She actually had told me that Saturday night, as we were talking right after lights out, that I started babbling something very incoherent, I rolled over and she knew then that she had lost me – serious conversation over. Of course, that is after I mistook my eye drops for nasal spray and took a couple of snorts. Meeting Kittie was just a major highlight of the week and I was so thrilled that we at least got to spend a few hours with her. What a joy Kittie is! I was also delighted to have met Candy Williams, a fellow DD team member. She has a wicked sense of humor, is so much fun, and I think, may be just a little BAD!

I can’t say enough about Kim (My Favorite Things). She’s funny, generous to the max, and just a fantastic person! Her daughters are adorable and her husband is one of the most patient and doting husbands I’ve ever seen. What a great family she has!

I feel so honored and blessed to have met these ladies and to call them my friends! I can’t wait until we can all meet up again – can someone say ROAD TRIP!

OMG what an exciting day! It’s the opening day for Stampfest Orlando 2007 and we have met so many people, been attacked by stalkers and laughed until we cried! We have finally recovered from Jeanne’s Diet Coke spillage on the new My Favorite Things shirts (which made us late as usual) and the minute we walked into the door, Candy Williams was going out the other way to find us. When we finally found her – after hide and seek through the hotel lobby and halls – we have done nothing but laugh to the point of crying.

Dirty Trio

We’ve wandered around and shopped – filling up our MFT bags, going back to the room and unloading, then heading back again! We caught Kim and Jamie working hard at the MFT booth

Kim & Jamie

as we were shopping across the aisle! How funny is that!!!!

Jeanne and I saw Lois (clownmom) early this morning in our search for Candy but she was so busy signing up for the raffle, that she didn’t notice us. So after we found Candy, and after lunch, we ran into Lois and her friend in Rosemary.

Lois

After the show closed today, a bunch of us gathered in the lobby for a Copic Marker coloring tutorial by Jeanne. We had quite the gathering, and had so much fun watching Jeanne color, telling stories and laughing. We finally got to meet Keri and Jackie from Inky Antics today and they spent some time hanging with us in the lobby. Candy made it home safe and sound and we are hoping she’ll be able to meet us back at The van der Sanden Inn sometime late tomorrow afternoon. Candy is so much fun and meeting her was like meeting someone we had been hanging with forever.

Jeanne and I actually had a stalker today too! We were standing with Candy at one of the booths doing a little bit of shopping and this girl standing next to me yelled, OMG you’re Bad Sherry and you’re Jeanne. We looked at her kinda funny, not knowing who she was, and it was DesignerK. She explained that she was just a lurker on SCS and hadn’t posted anything – of course, we explained to her that if she didn’t post, we couldn’t comment on her cards! Duh!!!!!!

As a kick tonight, when we got back to the room Jeanne and I decided to make a pile of all the loot we picked up today. I do believe that we have enough to stamp a new image every day for just about a year! Jenn Balcer, if you are looking, that bit of bling in the top left hand corner is for you! I’ll be sending it along when I get home!!!!!!!

Saturday Spree

It’s getting a little late now, actually it’s after 1:00 a.m. and I think I’m heading off to bed so that I can get an early start tomorrow. I’m dying to pick up a couple of Christmas stamps at the Paula Best booth!

We are nearing the end of Day 4 of the Great Orlando Adventure and I have to tell ya, that I am just about giddy and completely worn out. We started the day out early, and headed over to the hotel around 10:30. The first order of business today was to get the booth set up. While the booth was being organized Jeanne and I had the opportunity to briefly walk around the booths to see who was there. There was one lady that Jeanne kept thinking we should know, so being the bold and brazen women that we are, of course we had to go introduce ourselves. Guess who it was, Paula Best! I was just about to PIMP – OMG Paula Best!!!

Once the booth was finished and we headed up to our room to check in with Splitcoast for awhile before the Make and Take. There wasn’t much for us to do at the Make and Take so we were standing around and checking out all the tables, when Kim told us we could, if we wanted to, go hang out with Christie Ortman and Kristi Ferro. They were going to be involved in a pajama virtual stamp tonight, but once we hooked up, we really didn’t have anything to color with and not a thing to cut paper with (well prepared stampers that we are). We all agreed that we would get together Saturday night for a Copic Marker coloring lesson with Jeanne. This will be my third one, hopefully I’ll get it this time.

Here we all are in the lobby of the hotel where we just were hanging out, checking out some cards and shooting the breeze!

Friday Night Group

From left to right, Me, Jeanne, Christie Ortman from Paper Pretties, Kim van der Sanden from My Favorite Things and Kristi Ferro.

After this picture was taken, and Jeanne and I were heading back to the Market to get another Diet Coke you won’t believe who we ran into! Can you believe this . . .

Dolly

I guess that’s all for today, I’m a little tired (it’s now 1:30) and we have to get ready to meet Lois (clownmom) tomorrow!

Well, it’s Day 3 of the Orlando Journey! It’s been a pretty quiet day today – Jeanne and I have helped Kim get the samples ready and in the display cases for Stampfest. We’ve spent the better part of the day out on the deck just gabbing actually. We just spent ourselves shopping and visiting with Kittie last night.

Here’s little peak at what we’ve spent the day doing! This was not as easy as it looks and was much like a jigsaw puzzle — and we did have 4 of these to make!

MFT Card Display

A little while ago, Jeanne and I decided we needed to go through our purchases from yesterday, since we haven’t stamped anything for two days and I’m getting a little jumpy about wanting to watercolor!

Look at all this loot! Can you believe that this is the combined pile of all our purchases yesterday. There’s a little from My Favorite Things, The Cats Pajamas and the Stamping Station, all piled up together! Aren’t ya just green with envy?

Loot Pile

So I think we are gonna go out for dinner tonight at Outback along with the entire van der Sanden clan. Hopefully, when we get back, I can find some stamping time. Jeanne is about to go into challenge withdrawal and I’m starting to get the shakes over watercoloring. I had my mini lesson from Jeanne last night and I am so dying to try out what I learned. Plus, I owe Roxie a sketch challenge and even though I worked a little on something last night, we just had more important things to do than make a card – Gasp I know!

Jun 202007

The first thing I need to say is — WOW I’m tired, but what fun we are having!

Well, we finally made it to Orlando. I was late arriving by 45 minutes. Darn weather in Detroit grounded the flight, caused a back-up in Chicago, so of course, Louisville was next. Kim and her daughter, Emma, met me at the gate after I almost walked by her. Jeanne’s flight was early, but we couldn’t find her. After an hour of waiting and looking for Jeanne, I finally decided to go find my luggage. I scampered off to the claim area, Kim was having Jeanne paged, and my cell phone rang. Jeanne was somewhere near me, and finally as we were chatting on the phone I looked up and there she was. WOO HOO! After another long wait in the rental car line, we were on our way.

Our first stop – the MFT Stamping Room! OMG I was in heaven. We finally settled in and decided to check in with SCS, have a few snacks and just chat. We were all three gathered around the kitchen table, laptops out, chatting away both in person and on line.

Here we have Jeanne as she checking out the action on Splitcoast.

Jeanne

I can’t remember what Kim got so tickled about now, but I think there might have been a little spew going on!

Kim

We called it an early evening and headed off to bed sometime around 1:30 a.m.

As I’m writing this, we are wrapping up on Wednesday and what a day we’ve had. We arose early, and gathered out on the deck with coffee and our laptops. Once again, all three of us around a table with laptops in front of us, chatting to each other in person and online.

We headed out and went to Kim’s LSS, Stamping Station. What a great little store and Jeanne and I went totally nuts. Our baskets were full of punches, stamps and embellishments. Oh my word – heaven, just heaven! We walked around town, had a great lunch and did a little more shopping. The best was yet to come and we were on our way! We went to visit Kittie747! We had called Kittie early this morning, she skipped out of work early and we couldn’t wait to meet her. Before we left the house this morning, Jeanne and I headed up to the MFT stamp room, and took a look around for some cute little things to take to Kittie. Kim quite graciously let us pick some sets and made Kittie the most adorable little gift bag for Kittie.

Doesn’t she just look so surprised here in her stamp room with her goodies?

Kittie

Oh and I must tell you. I did it! I stood in Kittie’s living room, and had Kittie touch my right shoulder and Jeanne touch my left shoulder! I am hoping that their watercolor talent traveled through to me by osmosis!

We enjoyed a great dinner with Kittie and then headed back to Kim’s house for a coloring lesson from Jeanne. Kittie received her first lesson using Copic markers and I finally got to see Jeanne’s secret to shading! All four of us had every intent of doing the sketch challenge this evening – but quite frankly, we got too carried away chatting. Roxie we promise we’ll get it done!

Before Kittie left, I was able to get everyone lined up for a group photo. Here we have myself, Kim, Jeanne and Kittie!

What a great day we’ve had and one to remember for a long time!
