Wow! I’ve been in the studio since noon today and it’s now 9:00 p.m. What do I have to show for it – two cards! Of course, I’ve been monitoring my challenge thread in the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges on Splitcoast, trying to stamp, answer emails, take phone calls and make sure the pups get outside every whipstitch. I can’t believe that it has literally taken me all day and this is what I have to show for it. Actually one of the cards came together fairly easily, but the other dealt me fits all afternoon. It started out with one image, I colored it – didn’t like it, stamped and colored another. They both are sitting on my counter for future use. Hahahahaha that is the way the ink runs – is it not?

Anyhoo, the first card I made today was for Holly/Toy’s Dare to Get Dirty Challenge. I picked these images up at the Inky Antic booth at Stampfest Orlando, and today I went to check the website for the names – nope, can’t find them! So the lady reminds me of Norma Desmond (or Carol Burnett playing Norma Desmond) so I will call her Norma! The image was colored with Copic Markers and her shoe and the feather on her hat were made with Clear Stickles and red glitter sprinkled on. The background panel is the largest flair from Pollen Dust by Fancy Pants Designs that I picked up at eclectic Paperie some time ago. I stamped it in Black and then lightly sprinkled Disco Black embossing powder on it to give just a little sparkle (which I doubt you can see in the photo).

Havin’ It All

The second card I made today, and the one that took me all afternoon, is a double challenge card for Diane’s (cookiestamper) and Leslie’s (leslierich) Dare to Get Dirty challenges. I stamped the butterfly from au Naturale from Lizzie Anne Designs on a scrap piece of BasicGrey Stella Ruby and then colored with Tim Holtz distress inks. The sentiment and butterfly were both stamped in Walnut Stain and then distressed with the edges inked. Actually, all the edges of the paper were inked with the Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
