Mallory’s been home the last couple of days and I haven’t spent much time in the studio. We had the big family gathering yesterday. My mother did make her Beef Stew along with Red Velvet cupcakes. It’s amazing how Mallory now has us all thinking of cupcakes as the most perfect snack. Much better than a cake and can be eaten on the run. Mom also had a few Carrot Cupcakes too – WOW, they were awesome! She didn’t make them though. This weekend was also Utica Homecoming Days and one of the booths there have the most delicious deserts you have ever had. I think that is where she got them! I didn’t make it up this weekend, for obvious reasons, but Mom went up to stay in the river house and my sister and brother-in-law had a couple of cars entered in the car show.

Mallory has headed back to campus today with a container of the cupcakes and my bet is they won’t last on the 3-hour drive. Friday was the last time I spent any time in the studio to amount to anything. I had Stamp Club on Saturday and right after the girls left, my house came alive with the sounds of kids once again. I have so missed the kids running in and out!

I guess I should move onto some stamping for you. My Favorite Things released their new set, Shower Time, on the 1st, along with My Favorite 48 – a collection of 48 Prismacolor pencils. If you purchase the My Favorite 48 this month, you also will receive the Shower Time mini set for free. On top of this great release, My Favorite Things is this week’s Sketch Sponsor on Card Positioning Systems. As luck would have it, I had the sketch a few days early and was able to work on my card Friday night.

Special Thanks CPS

I’ve already done a few samples with the Prismacolor pencils, and decided this time to use Copic markers to color my image. I hand drew the flowers on the umbrella with a Signo White Gel Pen and dotted the middle with a yellow marker. All the panels were sewn together using my sewing machine before they were assembled on the card front.

Paper: SU Not Quite Navy, BasicGrey Romani, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
