Happy Thursday! I know I’ve been MIA the last couple of days, but I’ve had some other things to do. I’m also having house guests next week and I’m trying to get myself ahead of the game so that I won’t be a frantic rush at the end of the month. I’ll be posting some of the things I’ve been working on sometime soon. I can’t wait to share them with you.

Yesterday I got up early, real early. I had only been asleep about 3 hours when the pups barreled into my room whining and barking. I also had to take the little one, who is not so little now, to the vet for a procedure. By the way, the little 4 lb. puppy we got at 3 months old now weighs a whopping 9.5 lbs. She had to spend the night and Big Sis, Sydney, was just a little beside herself yesterday. She wanted to snuggle a lot. Miss Ellie is home today and wants to run and play – which she cannot do and needs to rest. So my day is still a little inside out trying to maintain sometime of balance around here.

Anyhoo, I did check in on the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge yesterday and started making a card. The coffee wasn’t kicking in, I totally hated everything I had done and shoved the whole card in a drawer. This morning after a few errands I took another look at it and decided it wasn’t as bad as I first thought. I finished the card, was getting ready to take pictures and realized I had not check on today’s Ways to Use it Challenge. Well, I found that I could incorporate that into the card too – twill – and took the card apart, and worked my twill in. So this is a double challenge card today! WOO HOO – not often I do that.

This is the Christmas in the City set from Lizzie Anne Designs. I stamped the small images in Brilliance Graphite Black on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and then colored with Copic Markers. The panel behind the 3 squares is both snowflakes in the set stamped randomly in SU Buckaroo Blue. I still have some the SU Holiday DP from last year and used that as my background. Hoping to bring out the green in the paper, and because I couldn’t find the right shade of blue ribbon, I used the SU Thyme Stitched ribbon.

Stamps: Christmas in the City by Lizzie Anne Designs

Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, SU Buckaroo Blue

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, SU Buckaroo Blue

Accessories: Mounting Tape, Copic Markers, Small and Large SU Oval Punches, 1-3/8″ Square Punch, SU Twill and Thyme Ribbon

As I finish typing this, it occurs to me how funny this card really is. Let it Snow! Yeah right! It’s still in the 80s and 90s, here and doesn’t look like we are going to have much of a break in the record breaking temps we are having. Our average temps for this time of year is 72 and we are now 8″ below our yearly rainfall. I did just see the weather forecast for the next week though and they are now talking 70s and maybe high 60s for the end of next week. Kittie and Jeanne, that is for you!

  16. How adoring, I just love it.

  17. Hey! It turned out great! The twill’s perfect and I love that touch of green ribbon that brings out that tiny bit of green in the paper. Gosh, I’ve got so much retired SU! paper to use up. It’s still pretty, though, so no problem there. I love the pieces you used on this card!
