I need to make an apology this morning. The other night when Rubbernecker Stamp Company opened their site, and we announced the Design Team, we failed to announce a Special Guest Designer. Jeanne and I had noticed that there was a mystery designer working in the background making cards. We had no idea who it was and Dave, the owner of Rubbernecker, pulled a fabulous joke over on us. We kept thinking that maybe they were Dave’s cards or maybe his sons. Well, as it turned out, it was Amber Hillman (Bambi64 on Splitcoast). My apologies to Amber for not announcing her with the rest of the team! So . . . . .

Please welcome Amber Hillman as the Special Guest Designer for the Rubbernecker Design Team. Amber will be with us through the end of the year, December 31st. To see what she has been up to, you can visit her blog, Amber’s Antics and/or her SCS Gallery. Welcome Amber! We look forward to working with you for the next month (now that we know who you are – hehe)!

I am also happy to say that if any member of the Rubbernecker Design Team uploads a card to their blog and/or SCS Gallery, you will now be able to find that stamp on the new site. If you haven’t visited the site yet, you should. There are so many amazing products available — anything a stamper would need!

Today’s Splitcoast Ways to Use it Challenge is to use metallic papers. Last night I had a brainstorm for a little twisted and demented humor and hit the rubber room. I do admit that I worked on this image last night, and as luck would have it, I could work the image into today’s challenge! Don’t ya’ll just love when that happens?

I stamped Ethel first, masked her off and then stamped the small tree. Of course, the tree had snow at the bottom, and I didn’t want snow. I hand drew the tree skirt and then colored the images with Copic Markers. I added Gold Stickles to the tree and then set it aside to dry. No more Stickles tragedies today! This morning, after the drying process, I finished the image off by drawing some squiggles with Spica markers. The sentiment was generated on the computer. The background paper is from Webster’s Pages that I found at Jacksonbelle Embellishments and the metallic paper I used to back the image and sentiment is some I picked up at the Orlando Stampfest.

  1. Such a darling card and hilarious image–how did you know that’s what I look like first thing in the morning? Hahaha! Question: I placed an order on the Rubbernecker website a few days ago, and haven’t heard anything back from them. I’ve sent a few emails, but still no response. Any suggestions on what I should do next to try and get an update on the status of my order? I’m concerned that the order didn’t go through for some reason, or that there’s a problem. Any insight from you is appreciated. Please email me if you have any suggestions. Thanks!
