Hey ya’ll! I spent the day painting today and since I have babbled on and on about being out of space in my studio, I felt it was only fair that I share this adventure with you. I know you’ve all read that my oldest daughter has moved out and I’m taking over her bedroom. As you will see from these pictures, she hasn’t entirely moved out (that is her aquarium and desk). The desk she is taking I found out tonight and it looks like I might acquire the aquarium.

So envision an L-shaped room in the corner of a basement. There are three very dirty windows that I cannot get open to clean, which will definitely be covered with something. I’m thinking something sheer to at least let some light in. We’ll see what I can find at Big Lots – I’m on budget decorating.

Anyhoo, what I’ve got to show you are before and after pictures. The room as had a primer coat and one base coat. I know it needs at least one more coat if not two.

This area is the top part of the L and where I will set up my workspace.

Can you believe that color of blue? A color Kate picked out some years ago when the room was built.

Now this is when you first walk in the room – or the end of the L. There are two closets on the left wall. One is a walk-in closet that has some tremendous storage.

The other door, painted the same color as the wall, is a huge storage closet. It also holds the pump for our well. We haven’t used the well in years, and I have my Christmas decorations stored in this closet. My plans are to have a table here for my Stamp Club to work at. Well for that matter, anyone who wants to come stamp with me will now have a place to work.

This last picture is looking at the end of the L-shape that enters into the other part of basement.

Hopefully tomorrow I will get the painting of the room done, and can move onto painting some old furniture I’m moving in.
