Happy Monday! It’s been days since I’ve been in the stamp room to work on anything. I do have some projects started and some things I need to finish up, but nothing I can share with you today. I will give you a hint of something I’m working on though – mark April 1st on your calendar. Nope, it’s not an April Fools joke. Rubbernecker Stamp Company will be releasing a line of stamps on April 1st that we are all very excited about.

Today is the second Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge, and Jeanne has picked red, tan and light blue as the colors. I decided to incorporate the Rubbernecker Challenge with today’s Try a New Technique Challenge on Splitcoast, which is to make a flap fold card. Here’s a quick card for both challenges.

I started with a base of light tan, 4-1/2″ x 11″, and made scores at 4″ and 9″, using a Mini Scor-it. Using an old pair of Fiskars Cloud Edged Scissors, I trimmed off the flap. Panels of Urbanlily Bonnie were cut to fit the flap and the bottom of the front and backed with a panel of red. I decided to go with a simple sentiment stamped in black and use black ribbon. The ribbon is taped to the back of the card and wraps around to keep the card closed.
