Happy Thursday! So I woke up really early this morning – 6:00 a.m. The problem, I didn’t get to sleep last night until around maybe 1:30 a.m. I settled in on the couch with the pups and my coffee, and then before I knew it, it was 10:00. Mallory was up the dogs were running around, and I never heard a thing. Good nap!

We all know that Sunday is Mother’s Day. I have mom’s card done, but I still need to come up with something else. She said the other day she needed to come over and go through my cards. She has resorted to the two for a $1.00 at Dollar General. Now I don’t mind that she sends them, but it does upset me just a bit when she sends one to a good friend and/or a relative that would definitely appreciate one of my cards. I gave her all of my Millie’s from the Dirty Dozen Gallery for her birthday and she said she just couldn’t part with them, but I do think she may have sent one to my sister. She loves the little cowboy from Lizzie Anne, and absolutely loves the zany women that I come up with. So here’s what I thought I would do. Make her some little cards over the next few days and also go through my stash and make her up a bundle for Mother’s Day.

I started this one of the cowboy last night, had it laying out to finish today, when I saw today’s Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoast. It’s all about chipboard today and luckily I had not decided where my sentiment was going to go. Hello chipboard!

WT165

The image was colored with Copic Markers, the edges were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and then roughed up a bit. I made the background panel using the Big Paisley from Lizzie Anne Designs, stamping it in Blue Bayou on Soft Sky paper. To make the photo corner and middle strip, I stamped the same image on Blue Bayou paper with Blue Bayou Ink. For the sentiment, I colored a piece of chipboard with River Rock, sponged the edges with Vintage Photo, and then stamped my sentiment.

  1. WOOHOO, yes I am the sister and I did get a Millie card. She was sliding feet first with mangotinis and yelling one he** of a ride. So I am one lucky person to have a Bad Sherry DD card, and since I am the sister, I get to brag, Sherry does some awesome work!!!!!!!!!!!! She definately got all the talent in my family.

  2. It’s awesome that your friends and family really appreciate your artistry. This is a great card, love the paisley and the cowboy image!

  3. Great idea for cards for your mum! funny that she won’t use them but wants to keep them instead!! I guess the only answer is to give her doubles of everything so she can always keep one!!! Love your stamped BG and cute cowboy on this!

  4. Great idea for Mother’s Day! I do the same thing for my Mom when her stash gets low. Love your card, the little cowboy is so cute!!
    Smiles!

  5. Your card is adorable! It seems like a lot of bloggers have new puppies and kittens these days. Enjoy.

  6. Love your little cowboy.

  7. Love this color combo!! Cute cowboy!! I bet your mom just loves getting all these cards (and yes, I would have a hard time parting with cards from you also…in fact, I still have a couple from the good ol’ days of the original CCRAK group!!0

  8. Hey Miss Sherry ~~ I too would have difficulty parting with any of your creations!! Afterall, I always consider them a mini-art collection, so only those individuals who appreciate my creation, my time, and my love that goes into each glue dot and each cut receives one. I would LOVE to have a stash of cards, esp. some of the beauties you’ve been creating lately with Rubber Necker’s Floral line ~*~* they are BEYOND stunning and certainly make me stop and appreciate the teeny-tiny-barely-there-buds and growths of green, I have coming up through our still chilly soil in Toronto, ON.

Thanks to you Sherry, you’re work’s of art make me spend more as I just can’t be without certain images, after seeing you’re magnificent interpretations =) I even mentioned to DH last week, that I’d rather have some rubber stamps of R.N.’s floral designs, (plus a few others I’m in need of HA) then real flowers for Mother’s Day ~~ now if that isn’t a compliment Miss Badness, then I don’t know what is ! LOL !

  9. My Mom does the same thing. =)
    This card is a CUTIE!!

  10. oh just SHUDDUP already!! He is adorable! love the paisley BG too!

  11. Super cute, Sherry! Love all that distressing and your fabulous background–I thought it was designer paper. I think it’s cool that your Mom likes the Millies and this cowboy. She sounds like she must be as much of a character as you!
