Well, today was Stamp Club. We were to start at 10:00 a.m., and by the time most of the girls got here it was pushing 10:30. I had one who was out of town, and at the last minute, I called my sister to come over. Carrie had left a comment on yesterday’s post about my tag and her earring being the embellishment. Carrie is not a stamper – she’s a cross-stitcher. She’s bought stamps, I’ve given her supplies, but she has never really gotten into the stampin’ thang. Today was the first day she actually had sat down and made a card.

This next picture I told Mallory I was definitely putting on my blog. She had come in and sat down next to her Aunt Carrie and needless to say Mallory had to start acting silly.

Carrie and Mallory

The tag I showed you on Friday was their last project of the day. I think the girls had a great time looking through all the old jewelry to find their embellishments. I had two other cards for them to make today.

SC A Song of Spring

This was the first time this set had seen ink. I stamped the bird in Archival Jet Black, and then water colored with reinkers. Something quite interesting happened while I was water coloring the image. I had too much red on the bottom, and the blue wasn’t quite dry and bled into the red. To offset the running blue, I decided to paint just a touch of River Rock and look what color I got – a peachy looking color!

Stamps: Flannel Plaid and Spring Song by Stampin’ UP!

Paper: Canson Watercolor; SU Soft Sky and Blue Bayou

Ink: Ranger Archival Jet Black; SU Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, River Rock, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip and Ruby Red

Accessories: Tsukineko Sponge Dauber; Watercolor Brush; Brads; Ribbon; Mounting Tape

This last card, I can’t say that I am really happy with. I finished it up late Friday night and I loved the image, but the background was driving me nuts. I stamped Perfect Plum on Pale Plum paper. My Club Ladies today stamped Pale Plum on Pale Plum, and the effect was much softer and a much prettier card. For the image, I stamped the lilacs, then over stamped the script and sponged the edges.

SC My Friend

Stamps: Rubbernecker Valentine Collection How Do I love Thee SKU:246-13 from Rubbernecker Stamp Company; Blossoms Abound and Flannel Plaid from Stampin’ UP!

Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; SU Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and Basic Gray

Ink: Ranger Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks; SU Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Old Olive and Always Artichoke

Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch; Ribbon; Mounting Tape; Tsukineko Sponge Dauber

I hope each of you had a great day. When my Club Ladies left around 4:30, I crashed on the couch and had a nice long nap.

  1. All the cards are very pretty, Sherry! Including the one with the Perfect Plum background. Wow–you really make a day of it with your stamp club. On the rare occasions my club gets together we might go three hours and I’m bushed afterwards. Of course, it’s all the preparation before and the clean up after, too… Gee, I wonder who Mallory takes after? Well…did your sister enjoy making her first card? Thanks for sharing your day!

  2. Hey Miss Badness ~~ Will you please adopt me? Please?!!? I’ll come to you’re scrap Saturdays and play with all you’re ink and stamps 🙂 LOL You and Carrie have the same smile ~ and Miss Mallory certainly has her tonsils still right? Haaaa Looks like it was a tonn of fun.

You have to stop stamping all these flower images ~ they are driving me bonkers, as I want them all =)

  3. Sherry, you’re adopting me too. 🙂 You should also play with these SU stamps a bit more because I love what you did with these. Consider them cased, including the “mess” up with the watercolored bird. Gotta try that color combo because that bird came out beautiful my friend.

  4. Carrie, the sister here. Yes I had a great time yesterday. Of course there were 3 other girls and they were all sisters, they were crazy!!!!! So of course with all 4 of us and then Mallory joining in the fun. It was a fantastic day. I loved making my two cards especially the lilac one. We also made tags, but mine, oh well. Good time had by all.

  5. Beautiful coloring on the first one, just love the watercolor blue splash of the bg to the bird, nice touch! Love the script on the 2nd card and pretty use of the ribbon!

  6. Hi Carrie … I just had a *flash* while reading your comments ((not a *hot flash* either lol)) …. I think you need to start your own blog, entitled:

“””WALKING ON THE GOOD SIDE ~ The Inside Scoop From Carrie’s Zone”””

I mean c’mon, you could tell us all the ~Dirt~ on your sister, take all kinds of good pics when she’s stampin’ in her PJ’s with her new purple Crocs 🙂 Ahhhh I can just see it now. *wink*

BTW~~ Now I need to know All of your sibling’s names !!! I can just hear your Mom stumbling over Carrie & Sherry 😉
