Hey guys!  Another exciting day here, let me tell ya!  While letting my chores pile up all around me, I was on the phone all morning and then took that afternoon nap.  Today my nap was only an hour . . . hey, it’s getting better.  I bet there will be a day soon that I don’t need that afternoon nap!  That’ll be a good thing because I feel like I’m burning daylight   . . . absolutely wasting my days away . . . and damn, I’m not even in Margaritaville.

While I was talking to mom this morning, she mentioned she needed some thank you cards.  So the card I worked on this afternoon is a generic card that she can use as either a thank you or a birthday card.  Actually, I guess she can use it for whatever she wants . . . I didn’t add any type of sentiment.  I also made this card for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge.  The challenge this week is to use flowers somewhere on your card.

Bird in Vine

Starting with a piece of white cardstock, I inked the background by swiping Faded Jeans, Broken China and Mustard Seed Distress Inks on my craft sheet, misting with water, and then picking up the ink with the paper.  To add more color to the edges, I sponged on some of the Distress Inks.  Because I wanted the panel to look like a tag, I cut the end with the new Spellbinders Octagon Nestabilities.  Wish I had remembered to take a picture so that you could see the end.  The vine image was stamped with Ranger Archival Coffee and the leaves were water colored with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink.  Because I am in a purple and green mood today, I highlighted the flowers with a Purple Spica Glitter Pen.  The background paper was sewn to a separate panel, and the middle panel (made with Spellbinders Petite Deckled Scalloped Borderabilities) was sewn on top of that.

  • Stamps: Birds in Vines from Flourishes
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Prism Island Mist Medium and Majestic Purple Dark; Memory Box Echo
  • Ink: Ranger Faded Jeans, Broken China, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Antique Linen Distress and Ranger Archival Coffee
  • Accessories: Spellbinders Octagon Nestabilities and Petite Deckled Scalloped Borderabilities; Spica Glitter Pen; Sewing Machine; Venture Foam Tape; Ribbon; Ranger Non-Stick Craft Sheet, Mini Mister and Ink Blending Tool; Clover Craft Iron

Before I leave you today, I have an announcement for you.  Rubbernecker Stamp Company has recently added Prism and 7 Gypsies paper to their store.  BasicGrey and May Arts Ribbon will be added very soon.  You can check it all out here.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I’m off to find some Butter Pecan ice cream . . . mmmm mmmmm good.
