I’ve actually made two cards today . . .  WOO HOO!  I so wanted to do the SCS Sketch Challenge today, so after my nap I jumped on it.  Hehe – yep got that afternoon nap in.  But sssshhhh, don’t tell anyone!  Since I’m watching American Idol while I’m writing this post, I gonna get right to it.

I loved the sketch today because it is perfect to incorporate inchies with.  You know I do love to make inchies.   When I saw the Home Tweet Home set from Flourishes, the first thing that went through my mind was what I could make inchies with from the set.  I’ve been wanting to work with the birdhouses in this set and today I got to do it.

SC217

The inchies were colored with Copic Markers, punched out using a 1″ square punch and then mounted on 1″ illustration board.  While I was at Hobby Lobby one day, I found in the artists section a package of ATC cards made from illustration board.  Today I cut one of the ATCs up into 1″ squares so that I could glue the paper inchies on them for more stability.  The background paper is made with that “inky thing I do” by swiping distress pads on a craft sheet and misting with water.   Even though it is hard to see in the photo, I misted the paper with Broken China/Gold Distressed Pearlized Mist and then stamped the branch from the stamp set in Antique Linen.

  • Stamps: Home Tweet Home from Flourishes
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; SU Kraft and Kiwi Kiss
  • Ink: Ranger Archival Coffee, Adirondack Espresso and Antique Linen, Faded Jeans, Broken China, and Vintage Photo Distress
  • Accessories: Copic Markers; Ranger Mini Mister, Gold Perfect Pearls, Ink Blending Tool and Non-Stick Craft Sheet; Clover Craft Iron; Tsukineko Sponge Dauber; Square Punches; Illustration Board; Ribbon; Button

I hope you had a great day today and thanks for stopping by!

Good morning and Smiley from millan.net!  What a day I had yesterday . . . dentist appointment, sleep appointment with more testing and sorority last night.  Good times for sure!

The other night I sat here in the studio water coloring images and watching television.  Surprisingly enough when I checked in on the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge yesterday one of the images would work perfectly with the colors.

I started putting the card together last night when I came in, but had to wait to finish it this morning.  Of course, I did go with one of my standby layouts . . . I hadn’t checked in on the today’s Sketch Challenge yet.  I’ll be back with that one later.  I already have an idea!  Anyhoo, here’s my card for the Color Challenge.

CC207

The image was colored with various colors of Ranger Distress Reinkers.  The image and bottom layers were then die cut and embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities.  I am out of SU Pumpkin Pie paper (I only had a small little scrap left), so I substituted Prism papers for the card and used BasicGrey Mellow for the background.

  • Stamps: Stamp Oasis Fantasy Collection – Laughter SKU:35 SO JB from Rubbernecker Stamp Company
  • Paper: Canson Watercolor; Prism Intense Yellow, Intense Orange and Spring Willow Medium; BasicGrey Mellow
  • Ink: Ranger Archival Jet Black and Broken China, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Old Paper, Mustard Yellow, Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick Distress Inks
  • Accessories: Spellbinders Classic, Scalloped and Classic Scalloped Inverted Circle Nestabilities; Sewing Machine; Royal Aqualon Paint Brushes; Button; Ribbon, Venture Foam Tape

Well the dogs are running down wanting their walk.  I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
