Happy Monday! I know it’s a little late for me to be posting, but I just have to share. Some months ago a few of the Rubbernecker Red-Hot Mommas, including myself, started a crusade. We were wanting some new coloring tools. Markers! Tombow Markers! We had been watching our friend Jerri Kay and her gorgeous work with them, read her tutorial over and over again, and simply HAD to have Tombow Markers. Deep within our souls, we knew that if we could just hold one of those markers, that Jeri’s mojo would permeate our fingers and we could color as well as her! Of course, we didn’t tell Mr. Rubbernecker that was the main reason we wanted them . . . . we used the excuse that we needed an excellent water-based marker, especially since Rubbernecker was coming out with so many solid images.
On Saturday I came home from the Epilepsy Walk and there on the dining room table was a priority box from Rubbernecker. All of a sudden I started to shake, dribbled down my chin, and my knees went weak! Mr. Stodgy looked at me like I had rabies or something and asked “a box from Rubbernecker?” I responded, “Yes, but not just any old box.” I grabbed the box off the table and ripped open the top . . . there inside, on the top, was a large ziplock bag. Hyperventilating I pulled out the bag . . . markers, Tombow Markers! Oh my heavens . . . .
Since Saturday evening, I’ve been buried in the studio coloring with my new markers
The box also contained some new floral images that I’ve been wanting, so when I was ordering some supplies, I also ordered them. Well, they’re not new per se, but they are new to me.
I am overjoyed with the Tombow Markers! I love the way they watercolor and how they feel in my hand when I’m coloring. The only problem I have . . . Jerri’s mojo did not come with the markers.
Here’s one of the first images I colored, making the mistake of not working on a layout or paper until after the fact.
I know this is so not me, but I do sorta like the simple look to it.
- Stamps: 63-07 Floral Panel from Rubbernecker Stamps
- Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Prism Iced Pink and Majestic Purple Medium
- Ink: Ranger Archival Jet Black and SU Pink Pirouette
- Accessories: Tombow Markers; May Arts Ribbon; Cuttlebug D’vine Swirls Embossing Folder; Brads; Tsukineko Sponge Dauber; Venture Foam Tape
I guess that’s all for today, except for one last thing . . . can you tell that I’m excited that RUBBERNECKER STAMPS now has TOMBOW MARKERS . . . and that I still need quite a bit of practice with them!
