Oh my BADness!  I have been so buried this week under paper, glitter and ink that I haven’t had time just to stamp.  I’ve been getting ready for my part of the Spellbinders CHA Blog Frenzy that . .  . well it’s like this . . . . Smiley from millan.net  I got last part of my projects done today, still have some more to do, but I just had to take a minute and clear my head.

I did something today that I haven’t done for a very long time.  I pulled out my absolute favorite floral image of all time!  For some of you, I don’t even have to show you the card and you’ll know the stamp.  For some others, it’s been so long since I’ve put ink to this image that you’ve probably never seen anything I’ve done with it.

Are you ready?  My Penny Black Blush stamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PENNYBLACKBlush

If you haven’t been able to tell over the last bit, I love stamping on wet watercolor paper and today is no different.  I misted the watercolor paper and let it sit for a few minutes to soak up the water.  When the paper was just damp, I stamped Rubbernecker French Script in Old Paper Distress Ink.  I let the ink sit for awhile, and then when I had the look I wanted, I finished drying with my heat tool.  The flower was inked using Tombow Markers, misted with water and then stamped over the French Script.  I felt the look of one single flower was lonesome, so I added 2 more . . . just for the fun of it!  The image was then cut and embossed with Spellbinders S5-014 Small Deckled Mega Rectangles.

I chose BasicGrey Wisteria for the background papers and matched them up with Prism Iced Cobalt and Spring Willow Medium.  The edges of everything, including the scalloped border, were sponged with Old Paper Distress Ink.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

  1. Sherry, your water color work looks as if you spent time in Santa Fe, NM learning how to perfect the technique! Seriously, your work is beautiful and I’m still jealous of your artistic talent 🙂

  2. Good golly, Ms. Badness!
I so love misted techniques! Your example makes everything look beyond wonderful! Woooooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooo!!

  3. I love this floral image, Sherry! I do remember it well from our “olden” days of stamping. I miss those days. Great stamping…..no pressure………all for fun!!!

  4. Sherry: I have that stamp too and I consider it my favorite. Your card is just beautiful. I have used that stamp over and over again for many years. With all the new stamps coming out almost daily, we sometimes forget our “oldies but goodies.”

  5. I can see why that is your favorite, neat job stamping with them, Lovely card!

  6. Great card Sherry!!!!

  7. Wow!! Sherry, I haven’t seen this stamp for so long I thought you pulling out Roses in Winter or Petal Prints. For crying out loud! Will you allow yourself some more “play time” please. I love the stuff you do, but your “play stuff” comes out looking like it’s from the heart and you’re having a lot of fun. KWIM?

  8. Love your card!! That is one of my favorite stamps, too and the Wisteria paper ia another favorite.

  9. This is so funny, Sherry! I was reading and hadn’t scrolled down to look at the picture yet, and as soon as I read “all time favorite stamp” I knew it would be this one! You’ve always done the most beautiful things with it, and this one is off the charts gorgeous! I have to echo both Kittie’s and Bonnie’s sentiments, above… I remember and miss those good old days, and you should definitely do this more often. I certainly plan to! We should start a movement…

  10. ok….I’ll admit, I thought that it MIGHT be Roses in Winter (yeah, I still remember those “old” days!!) but this stamps was inching in to take first place! hehe

Just lovely (as usual)…..ya know…..I think I need to find the joy in just stamping again…..(you know, away from all my other stamping obligations. Whaaat? I have NO OTHER stamping obligations?!!! Well, geesh….what the heck is MY excuse?!! bwhahaaaa)

ok…off to see if I can create just for the sake of creating

  11. Sherry,
Wow, I don’t know how many times you have used that stamp in the past, but, I for one will never grow sick of seeing what you can acheive with the ink, paper and water. Yet again I am in awe! It is a lovely stamp that I think stands the test of tme

  12. Beautiful, Sherry. And I know what you mean about that stamp. When I was looking for it, none of the local stores had it in stock and I had to ask one to special order it for me.

  13. I have loved that stamp for forever. It is a favorite of mine also which makes me think you have impecable taste 😉 I also love the “Inspired by Nature” flower from yesterday’s card. I haven’t tried the watercolor paper though, so I’ll have to break out and try something new. Thanks for the beautiful inspiration.

  14. I love the watercoloring you are doing but I am having a very difficult time trying to make mine work. I trying using your example from last week. The paper is either too wet and the background image runs and is messy or the paper is too dry and the image is too dark. Can you show your technique and maybe that would help? Also, how much do you mist your main image to make it show up so well? Having lots of issues here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Love your work!
