Hey y’all.  I know I’ve been absent the last few days, but something horrible happened . . .  my mojo walked right out of the studio and went who knows where!  After trying to color with markers, reinkers, anything . . . .  I gave up.  I walked out of the studio and spent a few days sleeping and playing with the little shitzes.

It’s probably a good thing I did take a break, as my trigger thumb started acting up again last week and I had to go back to the doctor this morning.  I had a cortisone shot 8 weeks ago on my thumb and middle finger and all was well.  The middle of last week my thumb started acting up again and by the time I got into the doctor this morning, I was in excruciating pain.  I received another cortisone shot this morning and I must say that my thumb is still rather sore.  If this shot doesn’t take, it looks like surgery is the next option.  I opted out of surgery this time because I’m heading to CHA and didn’t want to be messing with a thumb that didn’t work right the entire time.  I guess it’s now a wait and see situation.

This afternoon I was getting somewhat itchy for the smell of ink and paper, and thought I would try searching for the mojo.  I need a simple masculine card to send to my uncle (remember this post of my uncle in my pool) who is waging his own battle with cancer.  I also wanted the card to be funny and not serious . . . laughs and humor are needed now.  Here’s the card I came up with . . . . just enough to say hello and that I’m thinking of you.

  1. Sorry about your thumb, Sherry. Those aches and pains and odd occurrences are becoming all too familiar. It does look like your mojo made an appearance, though. I like the layout and colors and everything about it for a masculine card. It’s just right as far as being upbeat, too.

  2. Really cute card Sherry! What is it with trigger thumbs anyway? I have one too and the same thing has happened to me. The cortisone shot hasn’t worked and I’m dreading getting another one. They hurt!! But now so does my thumb. I hate to think about surgery. Hope your shot works this time. I really like your card. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Great card!! The colors are my favs (browns, blues….throw in a dark red and you have my house colors! hehe)

If you end up with surgery~~make sure that you get either occupational therapy or physical therapy (preferably with someone who specializes in hands). It will help tremendously

  4. Great card, Sherry! Sure hope your mojo returns in full-force and your thumb responds to the shot. Have fun at CHA!!

  5. Sherry, thanks for sharing…I too have a mojo no go….I’m going to clean my craft room today, I know it’s hiding in there somewhere! Love the pun card, I need a teen boy BD card….I just might try making a version of the fan mail! Have fun at CHA…Again, thanks.

  6. That looks like the perfect card to get a smile
out of “uncle”. Hope the painful shot works so
you can enjoy your time at CHA. I have missed
you the last few days and had to have my
“Sherry” fix by looking back at some of the older
    cards. Keep that “mojo” going.
