Smiley from millan.net Good Friday morning!  Is it cold and snowy where you are?  Here it’s just down right cold Smiley from millan.net. I’m just not cut out for this cold weather.  I prefer shorts and sandals over sweats/jeans and boots.   I think maybe I need to find a way to purchase that private island (including cabana boys) that I want . . . OR  . . . move to somewhere that’s warm year round.  Smiley from millan.net

I hope you’re not tired of all the Christmas tags by now, because I’m continuing on with T!m’s Smiley from millan.net 12  Tags of Christmas today.  Here’s T!m’s Smiley from millan.net Tag 8 and mine below.

Tag8

Since I didn’t have a light pole stamp, I improvised and made one using different elements of the Hardware set from Crafty Secrets.  I hand drew the actual lamp part since the Hardware elements didn’t fit that part of the lamp pole.  For the music background (even though I do have vellum) I decided to photocopy a page from one of my old hymnals, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear.  Yes, there was a bit of irony with the hymn and the light pole!  I thought the tag needed something else so I added a top and bottom border and the big red silk bow.  The borders were die/cut embossed with Spellbinders™ Fleur De Lis Borderabilities.   The holly swag from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps was cut down to size and then covered with Distress Stickles.

It seems I got quite a bit done yesterday  . . . I not only got Tag 8 done, but also Tag 9!  This doesn’t happen.  Here’s T!m’s Smiley from millan.net Tag 9 and mine below.

Tag9

The photo is from 1997 when my sister and I thought it would be great fun to have our picture made with Santa and give it to our mother!  So nothing would do but drag my girls along and go sit on Santa’s lap.  I think maybe it’s time we have another made  . . . we’ve all changed some since 1997!  No stamps on this card.  The paper is My Mind’s Eye – The Merry Days of Christmas and the ribbon is some of that gorgeous silk May Arts Ribbon from my friend, Sharon.  I have a few extra rusty jingle bells that I attached with Tim Holtz idea-ology Jump Rings and a Trinket Pin.  Oh one more thing  . . . I printed out the photo and mounted it on illustration board, then sponged the edges of all the paper with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I’m getting ready to tackle the next few tags.  Patti (NWLady) asked me yesterday if I was going to put these tags on gifts.  Oh for pity sake’s no!!  They will become decorations and I’m thinking that I might pass them on to Kate.  She just purchased her first home and if she wants these tags, then they’ll probably be hers.  I’m thinking tree, wreath or swag decorations!

I hope you have a fabulous day and thanks for joining me on the BAD Side for a few minutes!

  1. I am really loving your Tags and look forward to everyday seeing your creations. I have not started mine as yet will do it over the Christmas period.

  2. Two more wonderful tags Sherry. Tag # 8 is a vintage beauty and is just lovely. I like how you folded and rolled the corners on the music note paper. The holly under the bells is the perfect embellishment. Tag # 9 is just wonderful and the plaid background is just awesome. The picture adds a nice warm fuzzy feeling and a wonderful memory to boot. I am having the best time watching you create in your style. TFS!!!

(and I’m dying of laughter with the smiley…I just keep watching!!)

  7. I love both these tags Sherry. The way you put together that lampost is just incredible. Love the sheet music in the background. I absolutely adore this picture tag, what a great way to decorate with photos, much better than putting them in an album.

Can’t wait to see what you’ll do next.

  8. Sherry –

I bow to you! You have done a superb job with these tags. If Kate doesn’t want them, feel free to send them my way – LOL! Beautiful! By the way, did you buy those rusty bells like that or did you do something to make them look that way?

Thanks – can’t wait to see your next tags.

  11. Both tags are awesome! I did a card similar to the tag with the lamp post using the holiday grungeboard punched out thingys from last year by Tim. I did the vellum the way he described and it is so neat! I used the Christmas music stamp from Flourishes and this worked realy great. I love the way you did the lamp post tag!!

  12. Oh, I like your idea for the lamp post. I may have to borrow it (with credit due at posting)!!

  13. You are knocking my socks off with these tags, Sherry!!! WOW! They will make some awesome decorations for Kate’s new home!

  14. OHHhh Sherry, you are such a HOOT 🙂 LOL I had a good giggle when I read your response re: “Patti’s Q&A” [[your purpose for these breath-taking tags]]. HA HA HA ! “”Oh for pity’s sake no!”” heheheheheheeeee

All of your Tags should be framed and mounted, so they can be admired for another 50+ years, by the next generation of *Cheevers* 🙂 Yikes ~ that just made me reflect ~ do you think the future Cheevers will carry the .·:*¨¨*:·.Bad-A@@- Naughty.·:*¨¨*:·. gene like you? [evil smile]

Seriously Sherry, I’m really going to miss these magical tags you’ve been creating for the past several days :o( It’s like the clock has been turned back, and you’ve discovered a treasure box of ageless designs.

    xxoo

  15. Your tags are fabulous. Dare I say better than Tim’s?! (Hope I don’t get struck by lightning. LOL!) The yummy ribbon really ties everything together (hardy har har).

  16. what fun! You are on a roll – I can not seem to get out of my own way this year!

  17. Sherry I happily bow to you everyday!! Love your work and you own spin on these tags, they are all miniture art works. If you ever feel the need to move to a warmer climate come and join us in Australia it was nice, around 95 today. While we get a pretty cold winter, for us, anyway we haven’t had snow here in around 45 years lol. If you live in the top half of Aus 60-70 is about the lowest for winter.

  18. I repeat myself!!!! Oh my god!!! I’m going the wrong way, from last to first. But still, everyone is more beautiful than the last. And I am stunned!!! 😀 I guess I can go on for every single one!!!! 🙂
