Good morning! How y’all doin? It’s snowy here today and its gonna be a great day to spend some time in the studio! We are expecting up to 6 inches, but one thing I’ve learned living in the Ohio Valley . . . they never get it right. On February 4-6, 1998, they predicted 1” of snow and we had 22. Since that time the weather stations make sure everyone panics . . . go to the store, get your milk and bread . . . and it misses us entirely. It will be interesting to see what happens with this winter storm!
I’m supposed to be teaching a class at Lavender Sentiments Wednesday night as long as the weather cooperates. We’re going to be making gift/memo boxes and I still need to get a sample made . . . I’ve got some wicked ideas using distress inks and coffee filters!
After spending the morning yesterday working on behind the scenes DT stuff and then an early dinner with my mom, aunt, sister, brother-in-law and uncle (it was mom’s birthday on Saturday), I headed home and went down to the studio. I received a packet of stamps from
Just For Fun® the other day and have so many new images to play with. One of them was this fabulous floral image that I just had to use for today’s card.
The image was embossed with Queen’s Gold EP and then water colored with Tombow Markers. I used Spellbinders™ Oval Nestabilities to die cut/emboss the image. Because the oval was just a bit shy of actually fitting the image, I outlined the oval with gold acrylic paint before I sponged the edges with Old Paper Distress Ink. Just for the heck of it, I added a frame die cut/embossed using Labels Eleven.

Gorgeous Sherry! Love it!
Beautiful card Sherry, very vintage looking to me. I love the Tombow markers they always give such a soft feminine look to projects, they are some of my favorites. Great composition.
Speaking of snow we were suppose to get 8-12 inches and we got 28.5 inches here in Philadelphia. We are suppose to get the same amount starting this evening, hopefully we will only get eight. LOL!!! TFS!!! Hopefully you’ll get a chance to teach your class. : )
Beautiful card. I’m waiting patiently for the new Spellbinders products to be released.
We’re also supposed to be getting snow. A noreaster is on it’s way and should be starting tonight continuing all day tomorrow. I’m on Eastern Long Island in NY. We didn’t get the last snowstorm they warned us about so this one for me is a wait and see. Hope they’re wrong. We had a bad storm a while ago which left 26″ of snow to be shoveled. Took a very long time and I’m just about done for the year – lol. Don’t want to do that again!
Sherry –
This is such a beautiful card. I’m loving all the detail you put into it. Just gorgeous! Love that ideology touch too!
Well I’m in upstate NY near West Point and they are predicting that it will start snowing today around 3PM and continue until sometime Thursday morning, for about a total of 6 – 12 inches. So that’s not too bad :o)
Take care

Such a pretty card – hopes for Spring! The weathermen never get it right here in Northern Indiana, either. Of course, with the possibility of ‘lake effect’ snow arriving after the ‘system snow’, who really can predict what we will get. So – we just have to accept whatever it is, right!? Keep on doing your art – we love it!
Sherry – This is just lovely. You’ll never know how much your lovely cards give inspiration to all of us. They are rays of sunshine.
Pretty, love that stamp.
Pretty, pretty, pretty! Love your work! :o)
Great Card Sherry….I LOVE the Tombow markers too. I hope you get enough snow to be pretty and not so much to make movement miserable. My daughter lives in Wisconsin…it’s snowing there. I’m in California….it’s raining here. Have fun creating.
I NEEEEEED the new nesties!!
As per my usual comments *THUD*
This is beautiful, Sherry! Love how your image seems to be so much a part of the card. I, too, am anxiously awaiting the new Nesties. Keep up the fabulous and inspiring work!
Sherry, Your card is so beautiful! TFS!
