Good morning and Smiley from millan.net.  Just a quick post today since I’m still up to my eyeballs in CHA projects, blog stuff, blah blah blah.

My card today is another one using my new Webster’s Pages and Wordsworth Remembering stamps.  I absolutely LOVE this sentiment and I actually do love storms!

To add some interest to the scalloped circle, I punched a tiny hold in each scallop and darn it all . . . you can’t even seem them in the photo.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fab day!

Smiley from millan.net Good morning!  How was your day yesterday?  I stayed as busy as I wanted to be . . . mostly sitting and rocking and it made me so tired . . . I had to take a Smiley from millan.net

My project today is a little early in the year for it (Halloween), but I found this awesome Haunted House stamp in the Just For Fun® booth when I was in Orlando.  I have a project that I’m working on and this stamp will work perfectly with it (if I don’t change my mind).  I decided to play around a little last night and see what I could do with it!

HauntedHouseJune29(3)

The image is actually much bigger than this, I ended up cutting it down when I die cut it out.

Haunted House

Isn’t that one fabulous image?

I stamped the house first, then worked the ink around the image.  I really wanted it to look like the moon is shining on the house in an eerie sort of way.  Behind the sentiment, there is stamped very lightly a spider web.  Looking at it now it probably cold have  been a little darker.

Well, that’s all I have for now.  I’m heading down to do some cleaning and a little organization so I can keep on working!  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . . life is short, enjoy the day’s adventures!

Good Monday morning!  I hope y’all had a fabulous weekend.  I spent yesterday recuperating from Saturday’s big party.  I knew I shouldn’t have eaten all that junk but oh my golly . . . the beer was so icy cold and the food smelled so good!

After lolling around in the recliner most of the day working on some blog stuff and there was a race I had to run . . . I ended up in the studio working on a card.  Now seriously, this card took me all of 30 minutes to make even with the sewing.

Did I tell you how much I LOVE the new Webster’s Pages I got from Sharon at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store?  Oh my goodness . . . did you see me drool?  This time I used the combo pack Lullaby Lane and Life’s Portrait.  The design on the  bottom of the paper is so gorgeous I couldn’t for the life of me cover it!

The stamp set is another Wordsworth Remembering, Life Affirming.  I stamped the flowers in the background using Old Paper and then the sentiment was stamped in black.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to take advantage of the adventures that come your way today!

It was so hot here in Southern Indiana yesterday!  How hot was it?  Well, lets just say the high for the day was like 93 with the heat index 103, and sunny!  The beer was cold, the food was great and Kate and Will’s party went off without a hitch!

I have a bunch of photos to share, but first let me explain something . . . I don’t necessarily have people pose.  I sneak up on them and call their name.  I love getting them when they are not expecting it.

Before we cut the cake or anything, there was plenty of food.  The guys did a great job on the grill and we had all kinds of salads, baked beans, deviled eggs . . . .  actually way to much!

The cake  . . . of course there’s a bit of orange for Tennessee.  For goodness sake the dog is named after the football stadium!

the cake

Of course, we had to have the cutting of the cake, which by the way was lemon with strawberry swirls.  Mallory and I definitely broke all diet rules.

cutting the cake

This little guy is my nephew’s son, Jackson.  He couldn’t wait for the cake to be cut.  He’s also a little ham.  I took his picture and he made the face.  I told him he looked just like his dad did when he was his age.  I don’t think we have a picture of Jeremy when he was small where he didn’t make some kind of dorky face.  Of course, once the first picture was taken it was do it again.

This is my nephew Jeremy, his wife Erica and new baby Bryce.  Erica is gonna have her hands full with these two boys!

Here’s my cousin Shannon.  I told her she was gonna make my blog . . . she didn’t believe me.  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Carrie

Here’s my Step-sister, Bev, her husband Jim, and my niece Kim.  Kim was able to get away from all her little guys since they were all playing ball.  Good break for her!

Bev and family

This one is rare . . . . the Cheever brothers.  Right to left, Lyle the youngest brother, then Mallory, SIL Maureen who is married to middle brother Laine.  Yes, yes we know.  Lance (Mr. Stodgy), Lyle and Laine.  There was also dogs Luscious and Linus!

Kate . . . . don’t know what was going on here!

Kate

Our old neighbor Suzanne with Mr. Stodgy. Suzanne’s kids and ours grew up together.  The same ages and same schools.

Suzanne and Lance

Here’s Mallory with Marianne.  Marianne is Suzanne’s.  She has a twin sister Michelle.  These three girls were like sisters.  We called them the M&Ms.  Suzanne’s dad treated my girls like they were his own grandkids.  We still call him Grandpa Bill.  Sadly I didn’t catch him on film.

MandM

Will’s aunts.  Gotta love these ladies . . .  what a hoot!

the aunts

Of course, it wouldn’t be a family gathering without a vicious game of corn hole.  This is Will’s mother, Rhoda, and his sister Stephanie.

Rhoda and steph

Oh and the dog . . . that’s Marley.  He belongs to Steph!

I didn’t get pictures of everyone darn it all.  But hey, there will always be other opportunities.

So there’s our day yesterday  . . . we had a great time!!  I hope you had a great day too!

Good Saturday morning!  Did I tell you that my daughter, Kate, got married back in March?  Oh I did!  Here’s their picture on this post.  I said then that we would eventually give them a reception.  Well, today is the day!  All the family and friends have been invited to Kate and Will’s new home for an Open House, a barbecue and plenty of libations!  They are very excited to have everyone visit so they can show off the new digs . . . . they’ve been doing so much work on it and it’s an adorable little house.  I’m so excited to be seeing out-of-town family especially since it’s for a joyous occasion instead of something sad.  I’m sure I’ll have plenty of pictures by the end of the day!

I received some new stamps in the mail before I left for Orlando and then this week I received some new Webster’s Pages.  Oh wow!  I decided to take some time last night and whip out a card using all my new stuff.  It was nice to take a break from all the CHA projects that are spread out all over the house.  I could barely find the new papers . . . actually, everything is such a mess (so unlike me) that I really can’t find anything.  I’m just about at my wits end with it all and will have to clean and put away before I start the next round of projects.

Okay, so here’s my card.  I’ve had this in mind since I saw the set (Wordsworth Remembering – Poetry of the Earth).

SherryCheeverNatureSoothes

I stamped the trees lightly with Crushed Olive and then stamped the sentiment over the top in Coffee.  The paper is sewn to a background piece of cardstock.  The only thing inked is the sentiment.  I sanded the edges of the background papers.

This card is also for the Stamp Simply Saturday Hop – Dressed in White!  You need to check out Sharon Johnson’s blog and all the white and ivory ribbon packages she’s made.  They look fabulous! All the white and ivory ribbon when ordered by the spool is on sale at 15% off.
