Smiley from millan.net Good morning and happy Tuesday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend (even if it was a tad short).  I have a burr up my butt (as Mr. Stodgy Smiley from millan.net says and yes he really does dance like this) about landscaping the back yard.  Now granted I’ve done nothing but sit in my recliner on my butt for a few years now.  Depression can be a killer!  All of a sudden I feel great and I want to work outside and get some things done.  Yesterday I decided to tackle the dog run in the back.  We don’t have any big dogs anymore and it’s taking up too much space.  It’s all down except for two posts which I just could not get out of the ground.  I’ll have some pictures later . . . some before and after.  There are some wild Trumpet Vines in the boulevard and the dog run was in my way of where I want to plant them.  I’ll be digging them up later this morning when its cooler.

Oh I might add that Smiley from millan.net was a little upset with me.Smiley from millan.net  He thinks my neighbor and I are collaborating on making our back yard a jungle.  (I can only wish . . .  I LOVE Michaels back yard.)  He wanted to know my master plan and was actually perturbed that I did something he’s been wanting to do for months and months.  He also let me know that the outside of the house needs staining, the deck needs to be cleaned and why in the hell did I take down the dog run instead of dusting?  After a few minutes of steam coming out of my ears Smiley from millan.net, I said to him “don’t you think you should be happy that I actually feel well and wanted to get outside.  At least I wasn’t sitting on my ass!”  He had to stop and think  . . . and then I insisted we go outside and TALK about this master plan.  Gee wiz it appears we were on the same wave length . . . . Smiley from millan.net

This story could go on and on, so let me end here for the day.  Moving On  . . . .

  34. Another beautiful project! You have a knack for keeping them flowing, Thanks for sharing your talents.
I live with Mr. Stodgy, too. Except that in my house it’s Mr. Stodgy that suffers from depression and doesn’t take his meds properly. Man, that can be a bummer for sure!
I’ve concluded that at my age I should do what I want to make life good for me, and he can do as he pleases. We both seem happier that way.

  35. The Toad and I have spent the last two weekends outside bringing a much neglected front yard/courtyard to somewhat presentable. I’ve been so sore I can hardly move, yet I just stand in my courtyard and am happy. Creating can take many forms….yard “work” included!!

Love this hanging!! I think I need to try and find some mojo (maybe it got mixed in with the manure?!) to create something besides flower beds….

  36. Beautiful!

  37. You brought a smile to my face this morning. Your Mr Stodgy sounds like he may be related to my Crankster. I keep reminding him that women and cats will do what we want so men and dogs had better just get use to it.

I LOVE this plaque. I am already devising a plan to case the idea. What a great gift it will make!! You, my friend, ROCK!

  38. Love the quote and great flower!!
Glad to hear your feeling well enough to get things done around the yard, you know it won’t be long and we will be in the midst of winter again, so enjoy every minute you can out there 🙂

  39. I absolutely love this project! The sentiment is so appropriate and I am so glad you are on the road to recovery. I enjoyed your story with “Mr. Stodgy” and your cute little animated icons are wonderful. They made me smile. I am glad you had the “talk” and that you are on the same page. I would love it if you continue your story each day! A lot of us have a Mr. Stodgy in our lives and your story makes us think about what is really important in life and how to share that message with others.

  40. You are so creative! (Just wish I had a smidgen of it!) I love your blog, you tell it like it is. Am so glad you are feeling better and getting out and doing things. The hummingbirds love the trumpet vines and will thank you!

  74. Your wall hanging is so pretty. Like your choice of colors, too. I get such a big tickle out of your comments before you share your stamp work. Good luck on your big project. We had our front and back yards done 3 years ago to make it have that English garden, cottage look! The yard looks awesome but is so much work! We are constantly weeding, pruning, fertilizing, weeding some more, spraying for insects, dead heading, and weeding again. Keep it simple.
