Y’all know how I’ve been wanting some images of cowgirls, right? Well, I found some!! When I went to StampAway a couple of weekends ago, the first booth I went into was Artful Illusions. It’s my favorite booth and I spend most of my time there. For those of you who attend the show . . . you know the one I’m talking about . . . first floor, first booth when you walk in the door!
Friday night before the show, I was browsing the vendors who were going to be there and decided to check out some websites. Surprisingly enough, Artful Illusions finally started a site and I was able to download the stamp catalog. There, in the catalog, was a section . . . Cowgirls . . . . oh my BADness, I was drooling! Needless to say, my first stop I spent half my shopping funds and I purchased a few cowgirl images . . . along with some other things.
I found myself yesterday with no pressing time frames or deadlines . . . highly unusual actually! It was a perfect time to break out some of my new rubber and have some fun . . . just for myself stamping! It’s always the best creating process in my opinion.
Here’s what I came up with . . . a new wall hanging for my studio!
OH and what inspired this wall hanging along with the cowgirl images . . . Cosmo Cricket Wanted in 6×6 Mini Pads! YES, you read correctly!!!!!! Cosmo Cricket was brought back the Wanted paper and it’s in 6×6 pads. I no longer need to hoard my Wanted paper . . . . so guess what? I used it for the wall hanging. You can bet your booty that I will be ordering a few pads of this paper from eclectic Paperie!
You can see my two new cowgirl images on the left. They were stamped and embossed in black Distress Embossing Powder for that aged look. The sentiment on the tag is a new set by Wendy Vecchi and Studio 490 that my friend Daisy brought me at CHA. I added some Spiced Marmalade Distress Stickles to the flowers just for the heck of it and to add a little shimmer to the project.
I’m rather tickled with the whole project and love how it turned out! Isn’t it great to do some FUN stamping!

Wowsers, I love it!!!!! And you’re so right, it does make for the best creative process to have no timeline or deadline. This wall hanging is awesome.
Oh Wow so cool, glad you finally found what you were looking for, makes for a great project!
WOW! I love this wall hanging and NOW I get it. Cosmo had previously released Wanted and now re-released it on 6×6. Doh! You know, now that you mention it, I think I actually HAD some of that old Wanted 12×12 -LOL! This 6×6 is a MUST have! Hugs,
I will NOT be influenced to spend more money…I will NOT be influenced to spend more money….I will NOT….OH WHO AM I KIDDING?! This is just fabulous and now I’m off to see the cowgirl (maybe some cowboy) goodies (’cause this girl may not live in Wyoming anymore, but she’s still a cowgirl at heart!!)
I absolutely…LOVE this!

HOLY HANNAH this is amazing! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!!
I am going to check out the website for the cowgirl stamps. My husband and I raise quarter horses so of course most of our social life relates around horses. I am always in the market for western type stamps. I love the sentiment you used. Actually I love all of it. Your art is truly from the heart.
This is fabulous! Love the entire cowgirl theme!
Oh my…what a great wall hanging for ya…it’s too darn cute…love it…great job!!!
I’m SO happy for you… I only have stamped for “Have to” twice, a fill in at Christmas for MFT and then Won the Guest DT for MFT for August…. so I always stamp for fun…. I MUCH prefer the DT gig though, LOL Probably as I dont get to do it for so MANY companies as you do but I am THRILLED you got to just PLAY!!!! And as a Pendleton Rodeo hometown girl, I LOVE this project… I’m gonna sign off and go click on that site!!!!! LOVE it!!!!!
CONGRATS on the SUCCESSFUL FUN TIME!!!!! 🙂

I think that this project will look wonderful on your wall. It’s gorgeous, Sherry. I love it. I think that when we can relax with no time constraints we do some of our best work. TFS!!! Sherry, you do excellent wall art. 😀
This wall hanging is so gorgeous Sherry! I just love it!
Sherry, this is darn-tooting, rip-roaring FABULOUS! Those cowgirls were worth waiting for– you made them into a BRILLIANT work of art! You put so much care into the details– the leathery patch is western perfection, and the rope border is so clever. Great sentiment, too, and the Distress Stickles look awesome on the flowers. Brilliant work, girlfriend!
Beautiful! I love the new stamps and using the distress embossing powders is the perfect touch!

Hey Sherry, this is joni from Artful Illusions. Thanks for passing the word. We do travel the country a bit showing and I love going to Texas. We will be there mid Oct. doing a trunk show and classes at Stamp Assylum, Plano Tx.
I love the piece you did, very creative use of textures and color. Thanks for inspiring us all.
Wow, phenomenal wall hanging, Sherry! Those cowgirl stamps are wonderful and the sentiment is perfect for this piece. I love it when everything works to support a central theme.
