Good Thursday morning!  How are y’all today?

I thought I was going to be able to spend the entire day in the studio yesterday, but I didn’t sleep well the night before and ended up crashing in the recliner for a few hours.   Needless to say, the afternoon and early evening were shot then.

I was so inspired by Wendy Vecchi’s post yesterday with the ATC covered in sticky-back canvas and her tree, that I went searching for my canvas yesterday morning.  I found it, covered the tag in plaid, and then started working on a tree design.  Once I had it all done, I didn’t like the color of the plaid so I started over with Graphic45 paper instead.  You’ll see the plaid tag . . . . once I come up with something to go on the front.

In the meantime . . .

I used the same Spellbinders™ S4-288 Classic Diamonds for the tree, but this time I die cut them in half with S4-242 Big Scalloped Borderabilities Petite to give them a scalloped bottom border.  I guess I should tell you that the pieces are made from GrungePaper and they were inked with Pine Needles Distress Ink.  I over stamped each individual piece with Ranger Snowcap Pigment Ink using the backgrounds from Wendy’s sets Live and Make Art and Art by the Numbers.  The trunk is a scrap piece of GrungeBoard that was inked with Walnut Stain.

That star on top was die cut/embossed in GrungePaper with the smallest star from S4-092 Stars Five and then painted gold.

The tag is covered in Graphic45 Christmas Past paper and all the edges were sponged in Vintage Photo ink.

To finish off the tag I added some 1.5” Ivory May Arts Crocheted Lace (from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) and tied some purple ribbon over it.  The same purple ribbon was added at the top with a Charm Fragment that had been affixed over an image from the Christmas Past paper.  A Trinket Pin holds the Charm Fragment in place.

I think I like this tree better than the one from the day before!

I don’t mean to cut this post short, but my left hand (the broken one) has been giving me fits the last few days and typing is a little difficult.   Up until this week my wrist and hand have been doing well, but for some reason the night before it woke me up with very bad pain and numb fingers.  I think maybe a trip to the hand surgeon might be in order . . . . at least for a cortisone shot!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
