Good Wednesday morning!  I seem to be getting back in the groove slowly but surely.   The decorations are put away, the studio is back in order and Mallory leaves tomorrow for school.  The house will soon be all mine again!

Since it’s Wednesday . . . What’s on Your Work Desk?  Mine?  I was a busy girl yesterday finishing up CHA projects.  They will be out the door today only to be seen by me again when I visit the Spellbinders booth . . . and if I must say so . . . excellent projects.  I’m very excited about them!

One thing you must see is one of my new toys.

A spice spinner from Pampered Chef.  I found that medicine bottles from Hospice fit perfectly and they are great to hold all those little embellishments.  I cut down the packaging from the embellishment and tape it right to the bottle!

My ever present coffee cup and now my nicotine replacement therapy.  Those blurry things?  Projects for CHA that you’ll see more of in the upcoming weeks.  Stay tuned . . . the Spellbinders Blog Hop is fast approaching.  My day is January 13th.

Okay I must confess.  I don’t like a bunch of stuff piled on my work space.  I must clean it as I go along and after every project completed everything is put away and I start over.  Things I’ve used and need to keep track of are set to the side so I remember to include the product (like paper and dies).  See my inks are stacked off to the right . . . I was done with them for this project.  At this point I was actually in the process of getting my embellishments together for the finishing touches.

Oh my BADness, I almost forgot about the winner of the Crafts ‘n Things issue!  I loved reading all your comments and stories.  Quite frankly some of them brought me to tears as I was reading (that’s a hard thing to do) and I had to email a number of you as the comments came in I was so moved.  I don’t want to keep you waiting any longer . . ..

QUEEN MARY please send me your snail mail address.  You can email me at [email protected]!

I still have a few more copies and you never know when the mood might strike me to send another . . . .

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope your day is a fabulous one!  I’m hoping my new glasses are in and I can finally pick them up and I might, just might, find someone to cut this stylish hair of mine!

Remember, life is short . . . . embrace the adventures of the day!

  1. Great storage rack idea. Your desk looks remarkably neat and tidy for all the creating you do! I think my could use a little spiff up this afternoon. Thanks for the inspiration! :o)

  2. Sherry, that spinner and jars is great. I am glad you posted that. I wanted to see it. I may have to order me one. Talk at you later.

  3. Hey Sherry,
Like the spice spinner! Where did you get the black wire shelves and what are the dimensions?
Thanks and have a great embraceful day ! 🙂

  4. Bought Crafts ‘n Things yesterday and love your article – congrats on
being published. Same issue has 2 projects & one card from my Tennessee Stamper friend Lynn Roberts – another very talented lady!Nelda in TN

  5. Sherry I love the spice rack idea that is very clever!! 🙂 I don’t think your desk is messy it looks actually pretty neat.

  6. Sherry, I love spinners. Bought the Ranger one to hold the inkssentials and it works really well. I also save medicine bottles to store flocking to give it more space and fluff. I like my stuff where I can reach it but a little out of the way of my work space.

  7. I’m a big fan of using kitchen storage in my studio too – so much so that visitors often think my craft studio is in the kitchen.

  8. Hooray, I won! So exciting! emailing my snail mail address…. Thanks for the opportunity!

  9. You’re a “LifeSaver” in this blogging world. I spent 2 days cleaning my craft area..so I missed your post on the word for 2011. My would have to be “SPECIAL” special people, days, things and life. I had saved some unique bottles and I have an unused spinner, so guess what. your Pampered Chef idea will help me sort and clean up 2 areas of embellishments. Kinda like the WOYWW..Enjoy

  10. Love the spice spinner. I use a lot of IKEA metal drawer units along with plastic stationery drawers to keep my goodies in. My desk is all too frequently a big mess though ;-(

  11. Sherry, I need you to come to my house and be my personal trainer for cleaning up after the project is done. Would that be per hour? or day? or week or month. All this talk of CHA is making me miss you ladies. But summer is coming and I can catch up then.

  12. Everything is on my craft desk. We are dog sitting a friends dog. She goes back home tomorrow. Then I will be able to get to my craft room and do some cleaning. I was afraid to leave her alone. We have 2 dogs and she is rambuncious. I have wondered how the spice spinners would work. I guess it depends on what jars can be found. We don’t use any meds (knock on wood) and know of anyone how does, other than the small ugly amber/brown ones. They wouldn’t hold much.

  13. Kitchen storage is incredibly useful in the craft room too, especially for all those pesky little bits and pieces. Looking forward to the new Spellbinders projects.

  14. My sweet hubby put together a revolving cd tower to store Spellbinder dies, and miscellaneous embellies. It doesn’t take up much room and can hold a lot of supplies that I can simply reach for without having to get up. I used a label maker to identify the dies for easy access, which works out great. Can’t wait to see what you have created with the new Spellbinder dies!

  15. Great organized workspace. Thanks for the peek and sharing, hugs Marjo #23

  16. Sherry how I wish I could get into your grrove – you’ve whizzed out those projects for CHA and you gather supplies before you start…I start with one idea and have no idea where I’m going after that – which might explain why it takes me all morning to make 2 cards! The most impressive part of your space for me is that your ATG gun has half a shelf all to itself – how organised are you!

  17. Love those sinning jars, such a good idea. I wish I could make it to CHA, but its on the other side of the world for me.

  18. I was here earlier, but every time I tried to leave a reply, it kicked me to the Splitcoast blog or website, not sure which. I did it three times and gave up. Came back today to see if I could leave a message. Sure enough, it redirected me, but this time, after I got out of the other site, I was able to leave a message.

That spice rack is really clever, and I’m like you. I don’t like clutter ever. I have to clean as I go and clean after the project is over. Hope you have a great day (#16).

  19. happy new year! i love the spice spinner! i have a spinner for my pens and pencils and it’s so useful. your workdesk is so nice and neat. i’m trying to keep my desk neat but i’m not always successful. happy WOYWW!

  20. I just wish my desk was clutter free like yours! I can’t even get into my stamp room and moved into the kitchen! How do you do it????
