Happy Monday!  I sure hope y’all had a great weekend!  It was very quiet and lazy around here.  I was able to get in a little studio time and some laundry done!  Today I’m getting ready for the snow that’s supposed to be heading our way (yeah right) . . . it’s the Ohio Valley . . . we may get it, we may not.  Truthfully I’m tired of this cold weather and I’m ready for my warm spring and summer days.

Today is the first day of the big Spellbinders™ Blog Hop.  This is the one where all the new releases are shown prior to CHA.  If you’ve missed it, which would be hard to do, you can check it all out on the Spellbinders Blog.  My day is Thursday and I’m ready to go!  Just finished my video tutorial over the weekend!

I’ve got a fun little project for you today.

SherryCheeverLiveLifeJanuary10(3)

The background is illustration board that I die cut with Spellbinders Grand Labels One.  I’m tellin ya . . . these grand nesties are fabulous for backgrounds!

I covered the label with BasicGrey Curio paper, sanded it off and then added some Vintage Photo distress ink.  My flower is made with the Sunflower Sets One and Two, die cut from GrungePaper that was covered with the same Curio paper.  By the way, to adhere the paper to the illustration board and GrungePaper, I used Claudine Hellmuth Matte Multi-Medium.

The sentiment is from Studio 490 Rose Art Part 2 and the leaves (on GrungeBoard) is from Studio 490 Ticket to Art.

I added a drop of Copic Aqua (BG15) Reinker to the mini bottles and let it dry, just for some color.  They’re sitting on a shelf made from hobby wood that was painted black, sanded and then highlighted with Vintage Photo.

Oh my BADness, I even tried my first Memo Pin trinket.  I punched a small piece of the Curio Paper, laid my Memo Pin on it and then filled the Memo Pin with Glossy Accents.  Of course, it had to dry overnight, which is why you are seeing this post now and not earlier.

That’s all for now.  I’m thinking about braving the weather and going for a walk . . . see me grimace . . . all those layers of clothes.  I may change my mind!

Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by and remember . . . . life is short . . . embrace the adventures that come your way today!

  9. Beautiful! I’m impressed with the whole project and, especially, with the trinket pin. I’m in Missouri and Misery, too. We’ve had snow since about midnight and it hasn’t let up. The prediction’s for 7 inches and then blowing hard and bitter temps for the rest of the week. Oh, swell. However, I’ve been in my craft area all afternoon making cards and haven’t noticed or cared about the weather!! Stay warm! Happy Monday.

  20. Hi Sherry, Another great wall hanging. I just wanted to comment how much I enjoy (like another of your comments) the photos of products you used at the end of your post. For the life of me, I could not get my little mind wrapped around “Memo Pins”, but once I saw the picture, of course I know what they are. I am sure adding those pictures at the end must be a lot of work, but please know they are much appreciated. Linda S. in NE
