Happy Monday!  The first thing I need to do today, is tell you that the winners of The E-Team Blog Hop will be posted on the eP Blog today!  Don’t forget to take a look and see if you are one of the winners.

So, I have to honestly tell you that I haven’t been in the mood to stamp lately.  I don’t know what it is . . . maybe the sunny weather and wanting to get outside, a slight burn out, or maybe even having enough family stuff going on that I’ve used it an excuse not to head into the studio.  It could also be that my work area is in the basement and now that it’s sunny outside, I don’t want to go down into the dark dungeon.  Whatever it is and after giving myself 2 weeks of self-pity, which has put me way behind again, I’m pulling myself up by my bootstraps and getting on with it.   Balance, I need balance and it’s time I got it back!

How about we talk about today’s project.

When I first started playing with the Webster’s Pages new Triple Pack, including Yacht Club, I realized that I needed to make a card one day with JustRite By the Sea.  I finally got this card made yesterday afternoon.  Of course Mallory said the image was too bright and I needed to dull it some . . . she’s probably right,  I was just too lazy to photograph everything again.

The image was colored with Copic Markers.  The ones I used are pictured below:

The seam binding was dyed with Antique Linen Distress Stain.  Antique Linen Distress Ink was used to sponge all the edges.

Well, I guess that’s all I have for today.  Tomorrow  one of my first projects for Graphic 45 is to be featured on their blog.  I think this is the one with the video tutorial.

I hope you have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by!

  1. I’m so glad you are back in the craft room…I have missed your posts. I also have been in a slump for several weeks. No excuses for me, just not in the mood and I had several deadlines for the DT that had to be met. I think I worked on my own for too long. I find I really like doing my own thing. Love your card…no matter what anyone says the look is soft and beautiful!

  2. Sherry, this card is so pretty. It’s good to take a break. My craft area is also in the basement and I have found it hard to be there . Glad you have some SUN, we still have clouds and rain. But, this card you did is great. Thanks for sharing. Have a happy day.

  3. Glad to see you back, Sherry! Cute card and another nudge to me to get some seam binding, review your video, and trying dying it myself. I love the look. Hang in there!

  4. Hi Sherry,
I am a somewhat new follower to your blog and I must say you are a fabulous artist.
My question this morning is about the seam binding. Is this just the normal seam binding that you can purchase in JoAnn’s fabric department? I’d love to try dying it, but don’t know where to find it.
    thanks!

  5. Hi Sherry,
I do love your honesty. Many of us feel we are the only ones who have a bit of a slump. To know that designers do as well helps everyone feel less badly about it when it happens. I always enjoy whatever you do .

    Thanks
    Elaine

  6. Sherry: I’ve been a slump for the past two weeks as well. Late Spring fever????? I feel like my creativity is at low ebb. I just finished several big projects for various events, and I think I am “stamped out.” Also, Spring allergies are driving me nuts. I have good ideas, but no mojo to go with it. So, you can come over to my house, and we’ll commiserate together, and maybe get re-inspired. Hang in there….your work is always awesome. I really look forward to seeing you featured on G45. Hugs!!!

  7. Well, I think it’s very pretty and like the paper behind it as well. Get some
jivey music going in your dungeon and get cranking on those cards. Music always inspires me. Miss your daily cards and comments. Edna

  8. Beautiful, Sherry. I love the pop of color, because it immediately draws your eye and then lets you wander around discovering all the other goodness.

I totally understand the lack of motivation. I think it’s completely normal and we just have to allow ourselves some time off. Hugs.

  9. so glad you’re back and getting your groove back. i craft in the attic, no light and HOT starting in midMay… i do go into DDs room and scrapbook in the summer but little stamping goes on.

  10. Your card reminds me of the time hubby and I visited the light houses in South Carolina and in Maine, so really enjoyed seeing your card this morning. Can’t wait to see your Graphic 45 project; I ordered a bunch of the paper and need some better ideas 🙂 Have a happy day!

  11. First Miss Sherry, I am sending you a hug…we all need them at times, and we understand if you NEED to take a break.. Your photo is perfect. I really love your card, thanks for sharing with us.

  12. What a pretty card, and such a lovely unusual image.

  13. I actually like the brightness of the image, Sherry – it sort of represents the beacon that lighthouses are suppose to be. Thanks for the great work and inspiration. I, too, craft in a dungeon and find that sometimes it’s hard to leave the sun and head into the darkness. 🙂

  14. I think your card looks great as it is!! I know what you mean about wanting to spend time outdoors since it’s nice out. I’m having a tough time getting a couple of cards made, may just have to dig into my stash. So go on, indulge yourself & enjoy the sun while you can.

  15. Your image is just perfect with that paper, it is hard once the nice weather starts to come to stay inside that’s for sure, it is just natural to want to be where there is light 🙂
