Smiley from millan.net I am so glad today is Tuesday and my busy, busy days are coming to an end.  I have a big meeting here at the house tonight (a sorority thing) and I spent yesterday trying to straighten things up so we wouldn’t look like total pigs.  They’ll have to deal with my dirty windows and a few cobwebs . . .  but hey a great housekeeper I’m not.  I would much rather create!

Thank goodness I was able to make a couple of extra cards over the weekend . . . Because now I have something to share with you today!

Of course you remember that I recently attended a class by Karen Lockhart at Papertrix.  When I was shopping at the end of the classes, I could not resist picking up a few Halloween stamps.  Actually, the minute I walked in the door of the shop, they just jumped right into my basket . . . there was nothing I could do but purchase them.  The Haunting Witches Dress was one that jumped in!

The dress was stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with Copic Markers.

Copics for Lockhart Witch Dress

The web on the bottom, the bodice and the collar were highlighted with a Gelly Roll Stardust Marker.  The dress and the layers below were die cut/embossed with Spellbinders™ Labels Eleven.  The sentiment “haunt couture” was die cut/embossed with Grommet Tags and the bottom was was made with Classic Scalloped Edgeabilities.  On the inside, but not photographed is the sentiment “witchie . witchie . screamie . screamie . happy . happy. halloweenie!”  You’ve got to LOVE it!

I guess that’s all for today, except . . . thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures of the day!

  1. If I had to wear a dress….that would be the one! Love the bat wings on the bodice! I’d look good in that…don’t ya thing!

  2. Sherry, sorry for my spelling. The last word should be think! My fingers are not warmed up just yet!

  3. Very nice card. Love the colors. Have being seeing alot using the copic markers. Don’t have any myself. Will have to correct that!

  4. BTW-how are you attaching the small letters? If I use craft glue-sometimes makes a mess. The adhesive roll is too big to fit & makes a mess. ??

  5. Love it Sherry- the scallops at the bottom are perfect to mimic a dress and your coloring is the bomb, as always:)

  6. Sherry,
It seems everywhere I go, there you are. Everyone loves you and so do I. I love the card… wow ! Keep it up. I want to be just like you when I grow up.

  8. Halloween is such a great time of the year to make cards just for fun and your card is a perfect example of fun and creativity. I recently purchased more Halloween stamps, so will have to pass on the dress, but definitely will keep in mind and may even end up buying it after all from Ellen Hutson…oh my, what should I do? Thank you, Sherry, for the birthday wish; it was the best 65th birthday yet especially when the Medicare card is flashed…ha ha!

  9. What a Boo-tiful dress. Happen to have one in my size. Love it! TFS

  10. You beat me too it and a classy one at that, she couldn’t be to rough with a c0uture line like this. Maybe she’ll make it to Project Runway this week. I’ll have to check it out and see if you made the cut. LOL.
    Hugs and God Bless,
    Gretchen
