How y’all doing today? Finally after rain delays we are racing (while I’m typing this that is). I have a watercolor card to share with you today. It’s been awhile since I’ve stamped anything on watercolor paper and figured today was a good as any day to do so.
I used one of my favorite Karen Lockhart stamps (that I picked up at Papertrix last year). The image was stamped in Ranger Archival Jet Black, and water colored with Distress Stains. This was a first for me (the stains), and I will say it went rather quickly. I still think the re-inkers might be more vibrant and float better, but I had to try the stains . . . at least once.
Here’s a close up of the image with all the layers, that are separated by 3D foam squares.
That’s it for now . . . because I don’t know what else to say about anything, except . . . go Mark, go!

Hi Sherry! Ohhhh, I like how you colored in the stamp….Very nice!!
Such a cute card! I like the spellbinder’s dies too..Good Job, Sherry!!
Clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap!!!!
It turned out very pretty. Glad you tried it, now the rest of us can. Thanks. Edna
I love using my Distress Inks (both pad & re-inkers) to watercolor with. I’ve just recently starting using my Distress Stains… it’s a subtle difference, but I think it depended on how I “picked up” my color. I attempted picking it up directly from the pad and was not happy with the results. When I stamped on my craft mat or even an acrylic stamp block.. I was much happier. I could control the amount of color much better. I’m dying for the new markers to come to town and can’t wait to see what you’re doing with them!
Sherry, beautiful! I have to ask, what do you color your ribbon with? Distress reinkers, or copic? Your bow is just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely love your card! I like antiques, so the crock of hydrangeas is definitely a winner. The colors are so pretty and I just keep finding things I like about your card! I mainly use watercolor paints to colorize images, but your stain use is very, very pretty. Perhaps I should give them a try.
Sherry, this is stunning. Love the water color technique and this stamp!!!! I just love the layering you did with spellbinders. I am such a huge fan of spellbinders. I just can’t get enough of them. Have you tried the distress markers yet?
Marcie
so pretty, love that image and the color combo! I never thought of trying the stains, I just posted a card today that I colored using the distress inks, and I like how that works, now there is something else to give a try, tfs!
