WOW I can’t believe that I finally get to tell you this!  I’ve been keeping it a secret since CHA . . . I’m the April Guest Designer over at Inky Antics!

When I was at CHA, I was browsing through the Stampers Anonymous booth looking at al the new releases when I ran into Jackie Wamhoff, founder and creative director of Inky Antics Rubber Stamps.  I got to know Jackie while I was working the stamp show circuit, and always look forward to seeing her at CHA.  When she asked me if I would do a Guest Spot for Inky Antics, I was so excited I couldn’t say no.  So here it is April, and first card goes live today on the Inky Antics Rubber Stamps Blog.

That’s all for me today . . . oh wait!  I need to tell you about the show yesterday.  I got lots of goodies . . . some much needed Copic Markers and refills, some stamps from Our Daily Bread (and I got to see Kelly), got to even see Mary (Stacey Caron’s mom) which was a fabulous surprise!  I met of few of you, my readers, saw lots of my cards in the Rubbernecker booth (even though I’ve been banned/refused from the website since I left the company design team) – yelled hi to Mr. Rubbernecker just to see him squirm (Bad Bad Sherry), got to finally meet Nikki Sivils, and almost forgot . . . purchased some 6×6 paper pads I’ve been looking for!  All in all, it was a great day and I’m so glad I decided to go over!

Good Saturday morning!  WOW I can’t believe that this past week flew by like it did.  That E-Team hop yesterday sort of snuck up on me . . . and I knew that it was going to happen on the 30th . . . it just got here before I realized it.

There’s a big scrapbooking show over in Louisville at the Fair & Exposition Center this weekend that I’m going to try and attend this morning.  I was supposed to go yesterday, but after the gym, lunch with mom, a visit to Katie . . . well the day was over before I knew it.  PLUS, I was thinking about the $8 parking fee, the $10 entrance fee to the show, the afternoon Friday traffic, the $4.15+ (because I use premium) per gallon gas . . . it wasn’t too hard not to drive over the bridge yesterday.  Of course, I wouldn’t even know about this show, Creating Keepsake Convention, but I saw something on a company’s website.  There hasn’t been advertising here in the papers . . . only on the marque as you drive around the interstate at the Fairgrounds.    Okay, so the more I type about it the less I feel like I want to go over . . . who knows . . . but I do know that Gary Burlin is going to be there and I’m still looking for class supplies.  This is definitely not Stampaway but it could be fun nonetheless.  SO if you are in the area and you’re going to the show . . .  maybe I’ll see you there!

In the meantime, I want to share a card with your that I did a couple of weeks ago.  I wasn’t planning on sharing it with anyone . . . but what the heck!

It was during the week that I was playing with my new Distress Markers when I made this.

The image was stamped on watercolor paper with Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint and Brushed Corduroy markers.   I used an old background stamp and lightly stamped over the image with Antique Linen ink.

I wasn’t too sure what my layout was going to be, so I made my background paper using Wrinkle Free Distress and watercolor paper.  The inks used were Dusty Concord, Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint.  The base of the card was die cut with Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven.  The ends were scored to create flaps and the over-stamping (with the same old background) was done in Dusty Concord ink.  The seam binding was dyed with Tumbled Glass.

Oh and by the way, the flower is one of my all time favorites that I’ve had forever and a day . . . Penny Black Blush.  I went searching for it while writing this post and found it at Simon Says Stamp in wood mount!  Way cool!
