Good morning!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  It finally cooled down here and was quite pleasant outside Saturday . . . actually it was down right excellent weather!  It was so gorgeous that I snuck out for a while and went to some friends Buffett Party . . . where there was great music by Lunar Beach House, plenty of eats and cute little bottles of Land Shark Lager!  I hadn’t been to one of the Buffett parties for 8 years, so I decided I needed to do something for “ME” and off I went . . . had a grand time!

Yesterday I spent the better part of the day in the studio!  It was great to finally get a little ink on my fingers.  I was lucky enough to be one of the blog winners on Wendy Vecchi’s blog a few weeks ago and yesterday I finally put ink to stamp.

Studio490WildflowerCard

I inked the coneflower from the Wildflower Art set, with Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord and Brushed Corduroy Distress Markers, misted with water and then stamped on damp watercolor paper.  Without re-inking the stamp, I did a second stamp just slightly lower and to the left of the original.  Using a water brush, I pulled the ink from the markers into the open areas of the image.

The background stamp from Live and Mark Art was inked with Antique Linen and then stamped over the flower images.    The image was die cut with Spellbinders™ Labels One, stenciled with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, then the edges were sponged with Antique Linen.

Even though Wendy sent me the Art Parts that go with this set, I thought it would be fun to show her images in a different way that how she typically designs with them.   I think it helps sometimes to see something in a different light just in case you don’t have some of the supplies that are often used together.  Now the next time, I’ll probably use the coordinating Art Parts.

The seam binding was dyed with Dusty Concord to match the purple in the coneflower.

That’s all I have for today.  Tomorrow is tangle day and then later in the week I’ve got some exciting news to share . . .
