Well, I just couldn’t help myself! I headed back into the studio to make another simple layered card with what looks like plenty of white space. Well . . . white space for me!
For this card, I decided to work with my new Distress Paints for the background. I smeared down some Broken China, Wild Honey and Bundled Sage on my craft sheet. Misted them all with water and then drug through my damp watercolor paper. The paper had already been die cut/embossed with Spellbinders™ A2 Distressed Edges.
Instead of die cutting a stencil for the heart, I used the Classic Hearts die template itself as my stencil. I taped around the edges with painters tape, but sadly I missed some on the top edges . . . that’s where you can see a blue halo . . . I like it! The heart was outlined with one of my Zentangle Pens.
Oh and before I removed the Classic Heart die template, I over-stamped the script background from Studio 490 Live and Make Art in Antique Linen. The sentiment, Wish, from Studio 490 Just Word Art, was stamped in Archival Jet Black. The numbers background from Art Parts was stamped along the side in Shaded Lilac.
Using my new, just received, Studio 490 Stencil, Wildflowers & A Bird, I added a flower in White Embossing Paste. The flower was colored with Distress Markers in Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord and Walnut Stain.
As a final embellishment to the image, I couldn’t help my BAD self . . . I spritzed on some gold flecks with my Krylon Gold Leafing Pen. Thank goodness I was able to find some new ones recently!
All I can say is . . . Thanks for the inspiration Wendy Vecchi! I’ve had a blast making these cards!
