Happy weekend!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far.  I really thought I would be back with a project before now, but as luck would have it this past week was a real bear.  Once again Mallory ended up in the emergency room and we spent close to 11 hours waiting while they ran a few MRIs and got the results.  We left still not knowing what is wrong with her and had orders to follow up with more doctors.  We did the follow ups a day or so later and still are no closer to a diagnosis than we have been for the past 2 years.  We have finally received approval to take her to one of the larger clinics but we are trying for a referral to a neurologist here first.  A neurologist is the only specialist we have not seen yet . . . .

If anyone has any experience with these symptoms, we would love to hear from you:  muscle/joint aches and pains, left arm and leg going numb, hand tremors, blurred vision, deep chesty cough, fatigue, headaches . . .

We’ve had a number of people (not doctors) mention MS to us . . . and quite frankly her symptoms are all there . . . but we’ve thought about a number of other things too.

In the meantime, I got some studio time yesterday afternoon and was able to finish up a quick card this morning.

I’ve been waiting for the Studio 490 From the Garden Stencil for Art and it finally arrived this week.  I couldn’t wait to do something with it.  The flowers were stenciled 3 different times, with the top two trimmed out and popped up over the one on the front of the card.

I left a sentiment off on purpose, because every time I turn around Mallory or someone else in the family is needing a card . . . this way we can add a sentiment to the inside when it is needed.

That’s all for today.  I’ve got one more project for tomorrow, so I’ll be back then!  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Love this card, everything about it! I think going to a neurologist is good, that way all your bases are covered before referral. Also wondering if she has seen a rheumatologist?

  2. Gorgeous colors- love the crispness of the stencil.
Prayers and Light to y’all. Art Heals, in some small way.

  3. Such a pretty card, Sherry. Best wishes for a positive diagnosis for your daughter! I think it’s time for a trip to Mayo’s.

  4. Oh girl, prayers sent up from here!

  5. sorry to hear Mallory still has not been diagnosed …. I have to keep reminding myself that it is called practicing medicine … not a science, more of an art. Prayers are with you all that you will find the right doctor who can help before too much more time passes.

  6. Love your card Sherry. Very fallish, which is getting close to hitting us here in Atlanta.
Sorry to hear Mallory is still having trouble. Has she been out of the country. I friend’s sister had similar symptons and it was found to be a parasite. I think she ran fever with her symptoms though. Hope you get a diagnosis soon.

  7. A beautiful card, Sherry!! I’m so sorry about all the hospital time again and hopefully something will be figured out soon!!

  8. A beautiful card, Sherry!! I’m so sorry about all the hospital time again and hopefully something will be figured out soon!!

  9. So sorry to hear Mallory is still suffering, hope she can get some relief or at least know what she is dealing with very soon.
Lovely splash of fall colors in your card!

  10. Hi Sherry,
sorry to hear about your daughter (I assume that is who you are talking about?). I was the Director for the W. Slope of Colorado Natl. MS Society for a number of years–they were almost always able to diagnose MS with an MRI. has she seen a neurologist?? I would imagine she has. anyway, hope things get better. will keep her in my prayers.

  11. Love your blog (waaaay back since SCS days!). My first thought when reading Mallory’s symptoms was MS. Unfortunately, a lot of times MS is more or less “diagnosed” after everything else has been eliminated. I hope you find some answers soon, and that your poor girl stays well. Hang in there!
