I have more exciting news today! I received an email from Gina K a month or so ago telling me about a new line of stamps she was introducing. What she described to me was just hilarious and I told her that when I was able to get that set, I would probably be doing cartwheels and round offs down the boulevard. I explained to her I only did that once a year, and that was when the kids went back to school after the long summer vacation. She promptly said she might have to send them to me just for the video footage that I had to send to her. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! My flabby butt probably couldn’t get 1″ off the ground these days.

A few weeks passed and then one day I received an urgent PM from Gina to give her a call. She asked if I wanted to be on a Special Design Team to work on the new line, Tickle Your Funny Bone. Can you imagine Her Royal Badness saying no to Gina K. – Especially when it came to twisted and funny? I think not! I am so honored and delighted to be working with Gina K and the rest of her fabulous Design Team in introducing Gina’s newest line of stamps. Of course, you will have to wait to see the new sets, but I do have a sample for you today of another Gina K. Designs stamp, Seafood Surprise.

Just Be-Claws

I stamped the image in Distress Ink on Georgia Pacific White, and then colored with Copic markers. The corners on the sentiment were rounded off with a 1″ circle punch. I know I sew on cards most times, but please take special note today. This sewing was done on Jeanne’s new sewing machine. How could I spend two weeks in Texas and go through sewing withdrawal? When we were shopping yesterday, we just happened to be Target and I pointed out the sewing machine I have at home (which Jeanne took a little interest in) and before we knew it, the machine had jumped off the shelf and into the cart! WOO HOO! Of course, we had to do a little reorganizing in Jeanne’s stamp room to make everything fit and work, but well worth the 4+ hours it took yesterday.

Good morning all! I have such exciting news this morning. My friend, Carolyn King (Cammie on SCS), is the designer of the new stamps at Gina K. Designs. I was so honored when Carolyn sent me some of her new stamps and asked if I could make some cards. So yesterday, after Mallory was on her way back to school, I went to work in the studio and this is what I came up with.

This first card is using the Teddy Bear. I colored the image with Copic markers and drew some doodles. The background panels were made with round sponge daubers to pick up the polka dots on Teddy’s hat.

The second card is using the Owl, which I colored with Copic Markers and then sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Ranger Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. The edges of the designer paper were also sponged with the distress ink and layered on Chocolate Chip.

I so have some household chores to do, but I’m also in the mood to stamp — we’ll see what wins out!!!!!

I feel like I’ve just started my day, and this is just about the time I wrap things up actually. I haven’t been feeling well the last couple of days, so I decided to sleep in this morning. Well I sure did, 3 hours over my normal time. Then the new puppy made a mess, had to clean that up (of the joys of housebreaking). Right now she is in her kennel and will remain there until she actually goes outside today – bad bad grandma! The other one decided to bolt and run across the boulevard – so that was a chase down. Yep I look damn silly chasing a 5 lb. puppy through the yard, never catching her. AND, when I was making that first pot of coffee, I spilled used grounds all over the kitchen carpet. When my husband bought a new coffee pot, he bought one with the grinder built in. Needless to say, the leftover grounds from his first pot were still there, and while dumping them out, they slid through the end. Had to clean that up in a hurry – because I would forget to clean it up, then he would come in from work, want to know what was on the carpet, blah blah blah. Anyhoo, enough about me and my morning. I have something exciting to tell you.

This morning Gina K announced on her blog that she has some new stamps coming out on Tuesday, September 4th. It’s a new designer and she happens to be a friend of mine. So I asked my friend, since I have a couple of her stamps, if I could post a sneak peek too! Well guess what, she said yes!!!!!!

I did this card for today’s Ways to Use it Challenge on Splitcoast. The challenge today is dust off and sharpen those pencil crayons. Well I have plenty, and glad to have the excuse to use them a little more this week. Since I’ve started using Copic Markers, I have let my Prismacolor Pencils gather some dust. Out of practice shall we say!
