Happy Monday morning to you! Can you believe this year is over? For me, this past year has been one of exciting changes. I’ve made and finally met in person some wonderful friends – I’m so lucky! My daughters are striking out on their own. They are both so talented and independent, and they are following their dreams now. They are awesome young adults – I’m so lucky! No resolutions for me, I never make them. I can only hope that the path I’ve traveled in 2007 continues well into 2008! Sometimes you have to veer off and take the path less traveled, but what an adventure it is! Here’s wishing each and every one of you a Happy and Adventurous New Year!

This Friday, January 4, Hanna Stamps is releasing their new Valentine’s Set, Sweet Celebrations. I’ve got some sneak peeks ready for you, and my first one is today. I think I’ll save my favorite for last – nope, just changed my mind! I’m gonna show you my favorite today. I’ve just decided what a great way to end of the year. By the way, with this new template I’m using, my photos need to be smaller. So if you want to see the pic better, click on it and a new window will open with the larger image.

Kiss My Ass

The image was colored with Copic Markers, edges sponged with distress ink, and then all the panels were sewn together. The edges of background panels (BasicGrey Stella Ruby) were sponged with the same distress ink and then sewn to a larger background panel. The sentiment was generated on the computer and punched out. The lips were stamped in one color of distress ink and then the second pair of lips were stamped in a darker color of distress ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. The image panel and the lips are both raised on mounting tape.

Hey Ya’ll! I know I’ve been missing for the last couple of days, but I’ve had a few projects to work on. In addition, I had to get some Christmas shopping done! WOO HOO almost done. Anyhoo, here’s one of the projects I’ve been working on!!

Hanna Stamps releases two new sets at midnight tonight, which is December 14th. “Things Hanna Would Say,” are 28 sayings that will fit into the word window punch, and “Perfect Package.” There are 15 separate images in the Perfect Package set, from ribbons, bows, scissors, tape to Hanna wrapping a package.

For my samples, I used the Perfect Package set on both, and colored them with Copic Markers. The background paper on both cards is from the Daisyd’s Snowflake and Holly Collection. Even though this paper as a Holiday name, I know I’ll be using some of these papers for more than Christmas – they are absolutely gorgeous!

Additional papers on this first card are Always Artichoke and Soft Sky. The corner punch was used for the photo corners and I couldn’t resist using all the brads.

PP Hanna

For the second card, I made a 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 square tent card. The additional cardstock for this card are Always Artichoke and Blue Bayou. I would never have thought these colors would go well together until I went to matching the Daisyd’s paper. I used different size Marvy Uchida punches for the topper, sponged the edges and then added Ranger Liquid Pearls in the scallops. For some added shimmer on the inner circle, I added white dots with a paint pen, and then went over them with a Sakura Shimmer pen.

Good Saturday morning! Back in the summer when I went to Orlando Stampfest, I had the opportunity to meet Kristi Ferro. At that time, she was a stamper wanting to learn how to color with Copic markers. Fast forward to today, and Kristi is the owner of Hanna Stamps. A few weeks ago, while chatting with Kristi, she asked if I would be interested in doing some design work for her. Not only did she ask me, but she also asked Jeanne. As she said, she can’t have one without the other. Guess what? Both of us said YES! I feel so blessed to be working with Kristi and the fabulous team of designers she has put together. WOW there is some outstanding talent on the team that I’m gonna get to work with – WOO HOO!

I got my first set of Hanna Stamps one day the first part of this week, and couldn’t wait to color my first Hanna. I thought about my youngest daughter being away at school, and how a coed (since this is what Hanna’s remind me of) might look like on a cold snowy day on campus. Of course, this Hanna would have to be going to a function, because on a cold, snowy day I know my daughter would be in her warm and cozy sweats.

Holiday Coed Hanna

How fun is this Holiday Hanna! She’s all decked out in her Holiday attire with just the slightest bling on her umbrella. Of course, the image is colored with Copic Markers and those are red stickles on the umbrella. I couldn’t resist adding those stickles (and yes, I did let them dry first). Hopefully she won’t slip on that ice underfoot either. To make the ice, I stamped Hanna, masked off her boot, and then stamped the little water puddle in the set. The puddle was colored in blue and then a layer of Stickles was painted over the top. Now you can’t have ice without a little snow around the edges, so I dabbed some Tulip puffy paint around and waited for it to dry overnight before I puffed it up. Since I had used this Memory Box Holiday Greetings paper, I didn’t see a need for a sentiment – the paper says it all!

This next card, was inspired by one that my friend Anna had on her blog the other day. I so loved her card with the duck and mail – plus she was asking her readers what might be in the letters. Well, I just couldn’t resist leaving her a couple of comments on that one! Anyhoo, I had to make my own duck card. This time I stamped the duck, masked it off and then stamped the water puddle and umbrella. I colored the image with Copic Markers, put all the image panels together and sewed around the edges. The background papers are some new ones that I just got, Me & My Big Ideas. After sizing up the main panel, I cut a small strip of the coordinating back side, and trimmed it down using a pair of scalloped edged scissors. After I finished assembling the card, I couldn’t think of a sentiment and found these rub-ons hidden in a stash box. I figured if I used the sentiment Happy, it could be Happy anything. Happy as a duck in water, Happy Birthday or even Happy Birdday – the inside sentiment is as endless as your mind can wander. After I had the card completed, it just wasn’t right. So, I stamped out another umbrella, colored it the same way I did the first and then mounted it on top of the other one with mounting tape.

One Happy Hanna Duck
