Good morning! Can you believe it’s me again? I can’t! I’ve been struggling try to get the flowing so I’ve just decided to make a few cards to get it going again.
One day when I was out shopping in Louisville, I decided to stop in at Archiver’s since I was so close. At that point, I only had the broken wrist and wasn’t otherwise sick. I knew that I could probably color so I was looking for something new to color with Copics. I picked up a few stamps from Hero Arts and my card today is made with one I picked up then.
This is one of those generic cards to be used for anything. It does look like I need to adjust the tension on my sewing machine . . . I just noticed!
Of course I colored the image with Copic Markers and decided after it was colored to add some blue in the background by airbrushing. After die cutting/embossing the border and the second layer of the image, the edges and embossing were sanded with my handy dandy sanding tool. The silk ribbon was matched by Sharon Johnson and thrown in with the paper when I got it from her. Too damn cool!
Now I have to tell you that I struggled with the scalloped layer behind the image. I tried blue, a light brown, a darker brown and finally tried the orange. I still didn’t like it and when I grew tired of it all, I simply walked away and went to grab some coffee. When I came back to the project and looked down at what I had on my desk, I liked it. That’s why there’s just that one pop of orange.
