Smiley from millan.net Hello, how is everyone today?  I’ve been so busy that I didn’t realize that it is already afternoon.  I suppose I should take my morning shower and get dressed . . . well at least before 5:00 anyway.  Tomorrow is Kate’s birthday and she is stopping by after work today.  Of course, we won’t be celebrating until Mallory comes home on Friday . . . it’s Spring Break for her, and she’ll be arriving with 3 of her sorority sisters.  Oh geesh, that means I’m also going to have to pick up the middle of the basement.  Those girls will have to have somewhere to sleep.  Where am I going to put all those boxes of stamps and alterables now? Smiley from millan.net

You know this just might be the first day that I don’t take that afternoon nap.  It just occurred to me!  Of course I did do a little playing around last night (no no no . . . not that kind) with the levels of my oxygen.  I raised it myself.  The doctor did not tell me to.  I just did it!  Oh oh,  there’s that rebel in me rearing it’s head!  Here was my reason for just deciding to it.  I’m still taking naps . . . to me that means I’m still not sleeping well.  So if they gave me oxygen to help me sleep and it’s not working, then it needed to be changed.  Don’t you agree?  I was explaining all I went through with the sleep study to my cousin the other day, because she is getting ready to have the same study.  As I was explaining about not getting the CPAC because I didn’t meet the insurance company’s requirements, I had completely forgotten that she WORKS for my insurance company . . . . Smiley from millan.net!  She did however confirm that it’s no different for her either.

Enough of my rambling today.  How would you like to see the card I started last night and just finished up?  It’s all about bunny butts!  Oh how I love this image especially when it’s paired with a great sentiment.

I can hardly believe that it is nearing the end of the day of the last day of February.  Where oh where has the time gone . . . . Oh I KNOW, I’ve slept most of it away! Smiley from millan.net You guys have to check out Linda Duke’s blog.  She called me yesterday so excited and laughing hysterically.  She has uploaded a video and will be doing so on a continual basis.  I was so impressed with the quality of video that I had to buy the same camcorder Linda has.  Linda thinks that you guys should see and hear me so that you actually hear my humor and wit . . . I don’t know about that.  Maybe on the days that I actually get dressed and don’t stay in my flannel pants all day.  Oh wait, in that case you guys will never see a video of me! Smiley from millan.net

Today’s card is one I’ve been wanting to make for a long time.  I got this image from Rubbernecker just about a year ago, and today is the first day it has seen ink.  Gee I hope it’s up on the site . . . better go check!  Well crap it’s not there.  I’ve already sent Mr. Rubbernecker an email asking him to load it up because I know you’re gonna love it.  Especially if you like to garden.

RN Garden Angel

I actually picked my paper this time before I started coloring. I can’t say that I did a very good job of matching the colors, but hey . . . I tried.  The angel is colored with Copic Markers and then the image background is very lightly airbrushed with blue.  I used the Spellbinders Petite 5 ½” Daisy Borderabilities to cut, emboss and stencil the blue strip.  The flower was cut, embossed and stenciled with the Spellbinders Daisy Heads Edgeabilities.

Well the weekend is just about over, and I hope everyone has had a good one so far. I spent yesterday getting my new room ready to paint – WOO HOO! I need to take Mallory back to school tomorrow, which will be a day long trip, so that means no stamping time for a while. My plans are to start painting the new room Tuesday and hopefully get moved in this coming week. It may not be the exact way I want it, but that will come about eventually. The goal is to get moved before I leave for CHA in February.

Anyhoo, today might be the last day for a while that I actually get some stamping in. I checked out the Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoast this morning and decided it might be fun to play along. The idea of this challenge is to pick a card from the Gallery of the Featured Stamper to case, but you must change two or more items on the card and give credit to the Featured Stamper. Today’s Featured Stamper is KathyC, and this is the card from her gallery that I cased.

I flipped the layout making the top the bottom, added a few embellishments and used a different stamp set.

FS50

The image was stamped in Adirondack Pitch Black and then colored with Copic Markers. I added some Ranger Crystal Stickles to the ribbon and the Dot background was stamped in Lemonade ink on pale yellow cardstock. A white Signo Gel pen was used for the faux stitching and dots.

I hope everyone has a great day, and don’t forget to check in on Tuesday when once again there will be a clue for the Rubbernecker Tuesday Treasure Hunt. You will also have an opportunity to win some blog candy that a few of the Rubbernecker Design Team will be offering up.

Happy Wednesday! All of a sudden it hit me that this week was half over, and I really need to get my butt in gear! Mallory wants to come home this weekend – so I will be traveling Friday to pick her up. I did nothing yesterday but sit here all day, watch soaps and nap. Was a good day! I have to pay for that day today.

Even though I napped yesterday (for a long time), I did go to bed early too. Which means that I didn’t check out the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge until this morning. Love this sketch! I have a few more cards to assemble today and more than likely use this sketch for a few of them.

SC159

The bunny image was stamped in Adirondack Pitch Black Ink, and then colored with Copic Markers. Using the Copic Airbrush System, I airbrushed the background by masking the bunny. I made a little boo boo – got a little carried away on the ground and sprayed a little paint on his paw. Needless to say, I am now hooked on the airbrush and am looking for a way to hook it up to my portable air compressor. Need to make a trip to the hardware store. For the base background of the card, I stamped the dotted background in VersaMark. The designer paper was cut to size and then the edges were sponged with Dried Marigold Distress Ink. The sentiment was stamped in Stazon Timber Brown and the edges were sponged with Dried Marigold. Instead of using brads today, which seems to be a mainstay for me, I opted for eyelets. Unusual I know, but fun nonetheless. To balance the main image over the ribbon, strips of mounting tape were placed at the bottom and in the middle.
