I suppose I should announce the winner of the Tawdry Treats before me move on! I went to Random.org and ran the sequence generator . . . and the post that came to the top was #43. CONGRATULATIONS SHARON L. Here’s what Sharon had to say (which totally cracks me up!):

My best Valentine’s Day gift was from my husband the first year we were married. It was a cushioned toliet seat. Some may think that it wasn’t very romantic, but it was very comfortable and got plenty of use!

Sharon please send me your deets, so that I can get your package out to you!
I have the honors today of giving you your first clue to lead you off on your Treasure Hunt! But first, I’m going to show you my card — your clue just might be found there.

Comin’ Up Carrots

The carrots and the bunny were colored with Copic markers and the sky and ground were airbrushed in using the Copic Airbrush system. I cut the image and the scalloped background out using oval Nestabilities (which are just sitting here and gathering dust — and that is a shame). The background papers are scraps from BasicGrey Romani that were sewn together.

Stamps: Rubbernecker Easter Collection 84-11 Everything Coming Up Carrots and 84-03 Hoppin Text from Rubbernecker Stamp Company

Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, BasicGrey Phoebe

Have you figured out the first clue yet? If you have, then you know that you need to start in the Rubbernecker Easter Collection. If not,

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I woke up this morning to snow! Just a little, but it was so funny watching Miss Ellie running around the deck trying to catch snowflakes. Oh I should have taken a picture! We are supposed to have this weather for a few more days, no accumulation so to speak, but may I will be able to get some pictures. You want to know the funny thing? I bought a hot tub three years ago and have been WAITING for it to actually snow so I can sit out there with a glass of wine in my hand and watch the snow fall. Well, I am still waiting. Maybe I put a jinx on the snow thing, because it hasn’t snowed since I bought the darn hot tub!

I spent a good deal of yesterday in the studio just coloring. I can’t wait to show you what I did, but it will have to wait until tomorrow or later in the week. It was so much fun!!!

But get a load of this – You’re “tutu”rrific! Isn’t this just the cutest image ever? I never took ballet, but my girls did and I always loved seeing them run around in their little tutus. My dad would just laugh at them and then ask if he could have a “no go” ticket to the recital! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA – they were so cute together! Of course, he did go to a few recitals!

tuturrific

The image was stamped in Black Stazon on watercolor paper and then water colored with distress reinkers. I so love the colors of these reinkers – they are just so vivid! A white gel pen was used to place the dots on the tutu and leotard, and the edges were sponged with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. The background papers are BasicGrey Phoebe, and they were sewn to a black background panel. The main image panel is raised on mounting tape.

Well, I don’t know what the weather is like where you live, but here in Southern Indiana, it’s cold today! When I woke up this morning, it was 12̊ degrees and now at close to 3:00 p.m., it still only 18 degrees. Some of you I know have snow – but here, just a light dusting. Now I wouldn’t mind it being this cold if we actually got some snow to go with it! We haven’t had snow in maybe 3 or 4 years now, at least any type of accumulation. By golly, it’s winter – cold weather (which I detest) calls for snow. Why do I detest cold weather? Well first off, I have short hair and my ears get cold. Secondly, you have to actually wear clothes – layers of clothes, and shoes – I don’t like wearing shoes! To top it all off, wearing all the extra layers makes for more laundry, which I never seem to be able to keep on top of either. So my post today – it’s all about Spring!

The Splitcoast Sketch Challenge today is a fun one! Lots of layers which I am trying to make myself design with again!

The image is colored with Copic Markers and there’s just a touch of Spica Glitter pens on the bows. The edges of all the background paper were sponged with distress ink and the squiggles and faux stitches were made with a black gel pen. The sentiment panel was made by layering different size circle punches.
