Smiley from Happy Monday!  I hope y’all had a good weekend and you’re not in the line of these early morning storms.  I awoke at 4:00 this morning to the sounds of the tornado siren at the end of the street going off.  We’ve had some BAD storms this morning!  All is safe and sound here now . . . and the little shitz have all settled down.

One thing about getting up so early this morning, was the fact that I finished a card I was working on yesterday.  I colored the image and then went looking for paper to make the card . . .  Smiley from . . . I threw my hands up Smiley from, turned off the lights and came upstairs to watch the race.

I don’t think I’ve ever introduced you to Kiki.  She’s from Inky Antics and I’ve had her for years and don’t think I’ve ever put ink to her.  Oh I KNOW  . . . how could I have done that?  What makes this stamp even better, is that all the grandkids called my mother Kiki, until they got too old and felt they should call her Grammy instead.

I’ve also used a sentiment, Cut that Out, from Inky Antics that I just had to have!  Every year when my mother wishes me a happy birthday, it is my pleasure to tell her that she’s getting older . . . SO, I just had to have this sentiment.  The top half was stamped for the front of the card and the bottom half for the inside.

Getting Older Inside

I settled on Graphic45 On the Boardwalk paper (this was the hardest part of the card) and then added some ivory silk May Arts Ribbon (from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store).

Now that I’ve gotten Smiley from watching the Smiley from, and I’ve lost all train of thought, I’m going to end it here.

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Smiley from Happy Thursday!  Not only is it Thursday, but its also race day . . . . good golly I love Race Week at Daytona!  I’m going to try and go over to mom’s to watch The Duals with her and Uncle Billy.  I’ve got a big blog hop tomorrow and I’m not quite ready . . . okay, so I haven’t even started my project yet!

Get Distressed Banner

It’s gonna be a fun one so I hope you come back tomorrow!

I was feeling a little BAD yesterday – a little naughty Smiley from so to speak!  It has been a very long time since I’ve done blatant BAD girl humor and simply felt compelled.   All I can say is . . .  Damnation it was fun!!!!!

Remember my girl, Millie?  I so love her!  I think I was inspired to ink her up from my recent conversations with the owners from Art Impressions at CHA.  I was telling them about one of my favorite Millie cards and how we NEEDED a certain sentiment.  Have I told you that eclectic Paperie will be carrying their Girlfriend line?  Well if I haven’t, they will be!  I so can’t wait until the come in.  So here’s what I’m thinking.  If you like Millie and you think that you absolutely NEED her, send Daisy an email and let her know that you think eP should carry Millie too!  Yeah . . . . that’s it, email Daisy!

Without further ado . . . I bring you Millie!

Millie Outside

Of course she is celebrating so she must be wearing red along with her leopard high heels.    You’ll notice she’s not wearing socks because

Millie Inside

she has on matching underwear!

I know you’ll forgive  me for feeling a little feisty.  Who knows, there may be more of these coming.

Needless to say, the sentiment was computer generated . . .  but if anyone is reading and wants to make this sentiment in red rubber, let me know!

Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures of the day!

Smiley from Good morning! I can’t believe that tomorrow is Friday . . . Smiley from This weekend Wendy Vecchi is having her classes in Greenwood, Indiana. I pick Daisy Sparks up at the airport early evening tomorrow and then we are going straight to Sharon’s Crop Studio. Wendy is having a meet and great and we are going try like hell to get there before it’s over. Our first class is Saturday morning and guess who is joining us for our second class on Saturday? Jennifer Buck, Beate Johns and Jenn Balcer! WOO HOO! I am so excited to be getting together with these girls for some stamping fun.

Enough of my giddiness, let’s move on. I finally got some stamping time in last night! I’ve been in a rut with card layouts and sketches and decided to check the Wednesday Sketch Challenge out on Splitcoaststampers. It looked like a fun one and I decided to give it a whirl. The girls in the Crafty Secrets Forum are also having their weekly challenge which the theme is Friendships. I decided that I could combine both challenges AND add a bit of humor as well!

So here’s the front of my card.

SC280 Dear Diary May13 OUTSIDE

The image is from the Girlfriends Images and Journal Notes and the paper is from the Radiant paper pad. It matched the image so well that I couldn’t resist. I thought I was out of Crafty Secrets paper and then I found the Radiant pad buried in a ton of 12×12 designer papers. I’m so glad I found it!

For a little humor . . . but first I want you to notice the line on the image that says “23 Things Girlfriends Share.” That’s my inspiration for the inside . . .

SC280 Dear Diary May13

This is the bottom half of the image on the front of the card. I used the sentiments contained in Greetings from Wonderland and stamped them on the page “Dear Diary”. Now I thought this was absolutely hilarious and here I was Smiley from and Mallory looked at it and said “ha-ha mom” in that sarcastic way she has sometimes. I guess she didn’t think it was so funny.Smiley from

I’m heading out for a follow-up appointment with my dermatologist (to make sure my hair is growing and nothing else is going on) and then I’m gonna work on tomorrow’s Just For Fun® challenge card so I can pack, get all the necessary stamping tools together, run and get some libations and snacks . . . it’s gonna be one hell of an adventure! Now remember . . . life is short, take advantage of the adventures that come your way!

Good morning y’all.  How’s your week been?  I’ve been needing to go out and run errands all week, but I keep finding some reason not too.  Today it was the weather . . . just yucky.  Monday I got all showered, dressed, walked the dogs and then headed out to the garage.  Flat tire!  Tuesday I was able to get enough air in it and drive it up to the corner to have it plugged.  Thankfully there was just a roofing nail in the tire  . . . . and YES, I am blaming Mr. Stodgy.  He was the last to drive MY car on Friday when we went to dinner with the kids.  The rest of the days I was just too lazy and enjoyed the walking the shitzes more.  Today is my day . . . . I MUST venture out!

Today is also Just For Fun® Friday and Broni has challenged the Design Team (darn it all, one of these days something catchy is going to roll off my fingers and we will have a nickname).  If you have any ideas, please share them!

I know that Broni took her inspiration for these colors from Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk, so that’s what I decided to use as well.  Just For Fun® has some awesome lady images, here, here, here and sets here . . . they are bawdy, quite Marilyn Monroesque and very versatile.  I’ve had them set to the side to play with and I finally decided that this was the challenge . . .  we need a little Taintor-tude!  Suffice it to say, some of my best ideas for cards have been inspired by Anne Taintor.  I have been a fan for many years and her calendars  . . . well, I just LOVE them!  Remember the pecker cards?  Inspired by an Anne Taintor magnet that hangs in my studio!

I did something on this card, that I’ve never done before . . .  paper pieced!  Well, if I have I sure don’t remember it.  Her undies (and she is wearing some), blouse and hat are all paper pieced.  The rest of the image was colored with Copic Markers and even though you can’t see it, the background is airbrushed lightly in a pale yellow.  I stamped the sentiment 3 times and punched out the words that would fit in the word window punch with a little creative freedom!  The Graphic 45 paper and ribbon is from the Stamp Simply Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk Kit.

  • Stamps:  D2737 No Good Girls and G2757 Just a Breeze from Just For Fun® Rubber Stamps
  • Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Kraft; Teal; Graphic45 On the Boardwalk
  • Ink:  Ranger Archival Jet Black, Adirondack Pitch Black and Antique Linen Distress
  • Accessories:  Spellbinders™ S4-144 Long Classic Rectangles – Small and S4-145 Long Scalloped Rectangles – Small; May Arts Ribbon – 5/8” Teal Twill, Bittersweet Jute and 1” Yellow Grosgrain Ric Rac from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store; Sewing Machine; Button; Ranger Matte Accents

Now that you’ve seen my challenge card, it’s your turn!  We would love for you to play along with us and post a direct link to your card on the Just For Fun® Blog.

Happy weekend!  I hope you’re having a good one so far  . . . and maybe the sun is shining where you are!  I was talking with my aunt on Thursday of last week about how we all needed to get away to somewhere warm.  The only place I could think of that was warm and sunny was Hawaii . . . . I think we’ll wait awhile longer!

One day last week, and I truly don’t remember what day, the doorbell rang and it was Smiley from millan.netThe only thing I’m expecting is a sunhat that I ordered the day before and knew it couldn’t be the hat . . . Spellbinders . . . it was from Spellbinders!  New release dies are in the house . . . .Smiley from

Then today I was just a rockin’ in the recliner when the postman rang the doorbell . . . still not the hat . . .  all the new Ranger Distress Inks in the house . . .Smiley from

Can I just say how gorgeous the new colors are and that they are much needed to fill in the gaps.  Particularly in the green and red families Smiley from I couldn’t resist heading down to the studio, organizing them all first, and then playing a little!

As I’m sure most of you know, one of my favorite things to do is to make a humorous card with a twist.  I truly find it funny in its on way to take an image, make a stunning card, and then insert a sentiment that you would not expect.

and then the inside

I wanted this image to look old, so I did a very light wash of Vintage Photo on some watercolor paper and then stamped the image in Coffee.  A few of the bathing suits were then water colored with my new pink . . .  Spun Sugar.  The image was mounted on a piece of illustration board, the edges sponged in Vintage Photo and then the piece was covered with Sepia Accents.

I kept trying to find the right designer paper, and finally settled on some scraps of BasicGrey Porcelain and of course, I couldn’t resist using some of those new Spellbinders™ dies that arrived.  For a finishing touch, I swiped some Spun Sugar ink on my craft sheet, misted it with water and dapped it up with the twill ribbon.  While the ribbon was still damp, I swiped Antique Linen sporadically along it and then tried with my craft iron.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend.  Remember, life is short  . . . live each day to its fullest and take advantage of the adventures offered!
