Well, here it is Wednesday . . . Smiley from millan.net . . .  and I’m not the least bit prepared for anything I’m supposed to be prepared for!  Confusing?  It is for me too! Smiley from millan.net

Mr. Rubbernecker drove the trailer into Louisville yesterday afternoon and from 2:30 or so, I was busy until 9:30.  I got Mr. Rubbernecker to the airport, amidst traffic snarls on the interstate, around 4’ish and by the time I got back home, I had just enough time to get ready for sorority.  I decided on the way home from the church, that it was just too late to go into the studio and stamp for the WACKY WEDNESDAY  Challenge.  I suppose I should have held up on the box I posted Tuesday for Wednesday . . . a little too late now! Smiley from millan.net

So, here’s what’s gonna happen!  Today is the Rubbernecker Stamps WACKY WEDNESDAY Challenge.  Candy is the hostess and you can check out her challenge on the Rubbernecker Blog.  Because there was some confusion last week on a checkout code, even I was confused, Smiley from millan.net we want to make things simple.  If you upload a card to the Rubbernecker Blog in the WACKY WEDNESDAY Challenge post, you can use the code WW and receive a 10% discount on your entire order!  We are still giving away a 40% discount code each week, but it is such a simple way to get 10% off!  Please check out the challenge and play along with us this week!

I’ll be back later with my challenge card.

Hey it’s Tuesday!  Good morning!  I had such a great day yesterday playing with the shitzes, moving furniture around and basically just putzing around the house.  It was such a lazy day but I actually got some things done that needed doing.  I also started trying on some old clothes in my closet and am tickled I kept those “too small” jeans, etc.  Because they’re not “too small” anymore!  Some of them are even a “little too big.”  WOO HOO!  I’m slowly getting to that 30 lbs lost and have no intention of quitting anytime soon.  Since January, I have been on a “gluten free” eating plan (notice I say eating plan because this is not a diet).  I have come to realize that for my health and well being, I must strictly keep myself in check with cookies, cakes, pies, bread, etc.  Mallory also went on a gluten free diet this summer and her desire to have breads and cookies have enabled me to find many gluten free choices at the health food stores.  For both of us, gluten free has become a way of life and healthy living.  This isn’t something we have chosen because we want too . . . it is a medical must.  It’s amazing how much better you can feel, even when you don’t realize you feel bad to begin with!

Didn’t mean to babble about that, but that’s just where my mind was running for a few minutes.  Maybe because I was looking for a pair of black pants to wear right before I sat down to write this post.  Yes . . . . that must be it!

The project I have to share with you today is actually another sample for one of my classes.  I never grow tired of making these little boxes  . . . they are so damned versatile!

CoasterBoxSample1DaisiesAugust2009

Mallory asked for one of these to use on her desk at school, so I suppose I better be looking for some fun and funky paper for hers.

I leave you with one final thought:

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says “Oh Crap, She’s up!”

I can’t believe that I finally made enough space for me to stamp.  After the mad rush of CHA projects and then class projects, my work room was a total mess and I couldn’t find a thing!  I’m one of those that have to put everything away when I’m done and my work area clean when I turn out the lights.  When I don’t and things start to pile up . . .  well, it drives me a little crazy!  I also lost my fridge to Mallory and I gained some new stamps and tools when I was in Colorado.  I had to readjust some, so that’s what I did yesterday.  I’m not quite ready to show you pictures or anything yet however.

Since I decided to clean yesterday and not stamp, I never got to the WACKY WEDNESDAY Challenge.  I also forgot I had a meeting last night and had to run out at the last minute . . . no stamping time there either.  I got up this morning ready to stamp!

The background papers are BasicGrey Marrakech, that has been sewn to a panel of SU Bermuda Bay.  The border was cut/embossed using the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Borderabilities using the same paper.  The flower was made from Dusty Durango using the Spellbinders Flower Creations 3.  After the flower layers were cut/embossed, they were covered with Distress Stickles and allowed to dry.  Once the layers were dry and adjusted, a BasicGrey Marrakech brad was used to hold them all in place.

Good morning!  Smiley from millan.net This week’s Rubbernecker Stamps WACKY WEDNESDAY Challenge is being combined with the Color Throwdown Challenge!  Rubbernecker Stamps is sponsoring the Color Throwdown Challenge and we thought it would be fun if the Red-Hot Mommas used their colors while the Color Throwdown designers are using Rubbernecker images.

Dave, Mr. Rubbernecker, has also decided that he would like to thank everyone who has been participating in the WACKY WEDNESDAY Challenges.  He is offering all participants a 10% discount off your entire order.  When you post a card to the WACKY WEDNESDAY Challenge, you will be able to use the code WW25  for one week beginning next Wednesday, the date of WACKY WEDNESDAY #26.  We will continue to give one coupon code for 40% off each week as well!

The color challenge this week is SU Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango and Soft Suede.  If you don’t have SU but Prism papers, the colors are Vibrant Teal, Desert Coral Dark and Suede Brown Medium.  Linda is the hostess of the WACKY WEDNESDAY challenge this week and you can see her example and get more info on the challenges at the Rubbernecker Blog.

Because of my travels I’m running a little behind this week.  I’ll be back later this morning with my card!  Until then . . .  have a great day!

Hey all!  After a long flight from Colorado, a 3 hour lay over at Midway and then another weather delay, I finally made it home last night.  What a long weekend it was.  I didn’t remember how tired I always got when working one of these shows.  However, I must say that the pleasure of meeting so many online friends all in one place makes up for it.  Colorado is gorgeous and the weather was a little cooler than I thought, but oh my  . . .  not having all that Ohio Valley humidity . . . well it just made me do this . . . Smiley from millan.net

Even without any promotion, I did have a couple of classes over the weekend.  Much to my amazement, Holly McMillen was walking down an aisle when I spotted her.  Of course, I dropped what I was doing and immediately ran toward her.  It was great fun to finally meet her, but the best  . . .  she took one of my classes!  So not only did I get to meet Holly, but we did kinda stamp together too!

I wasn’t able to get a picture with Holly, but I did with Cindy Motherway and all the girls working the booth!

From left to right, that’s Kathy (Cindy’s sister-in-law), me, Cindy (mothermark) and Madeline!  It was fabulous to finally meet the girls and spend the weekend having fun with them.  We did have our moments too!

What you can’t see, is that I had coffee all down the front of my shirt.  Both days, wait all three days, I spilled my coffee carrying stuff in the first trip in the morning.  This day, I wore my apron back to the hotel it was soooooo BAD!

So today is laundry and catch-up day!  I leave again on Friday for Colorado Springs (were I will hopefully be offering classes again).  It all depends on space and what type of promotion I get.  If can’t get my classes in, I will be demoing part of the classes and selling some class kits.  My class registration for Tinley Park, Illinois is already up if you are in the area and want to spend time laughing with me!  Class registration for the St. Paul classes opens at noon on August 18th.

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
