Hey y’all!  So I got my days a little mixed up and calendars were a little wonky and I ended up with an extra project, which I’ve decided to post today instead of waiting for a couple of weeks.

You know, I’m not really a pink kinda girl, and somehow I ended up with pink as the main theme.  It really was quite by accident, since the original plan was white, ALL white!

The poinsettia was die cut/embossed and while I was in the process of shaping the leaves, it turned red/pink.  I truly doubt that this had anything to do with the mist that I had sprayed on the blooms, but instead some left over ink on the foam I was using for shaping; when I turned the leaves over, they were pink.  Instead of tossing them (which was my first inclination), I decided to go with the mistake and make a happy ending with it.  Actually, I liked the little touch of color!

The sentiment, Quietfire Design – Christmas Waves a Magic Wand, was embossed with Queen’s Gold Embossing Powder and then die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels 40 Decorative Accents.  While the paper was still in the die template, Antique Linen Distress Ink was sponged around the inside of the die.

The layers behind the sentiment were die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels 40, and sponged with Antique Linen as well.  I couldn’t decide on the color of ribbon to use, so I went with dying some seam binding with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

I guess that’s all for now.  I hope you have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by!

Good morning all!  Hope everyone is doing well and staying out of trouble.  I’m wrapping down what’s been a pretty busy month so far (birthday celebrations, family reunion, fall festivals, Broadway shows).  It’s finally the weekend for Ken Oliver’s Art at the Edge!  Can’t wait to see everyone and meet up with some friends I haven’t seen for some time.  I’ll be hitting the social media over the weekend, so make sure to catch me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter . . .  from what I’ve seen so far, Ken has some fabulous swag that he’ll be sharing with us, and of course, I’m going to have to share with you!

Now for today!  I’ve got a card posted over on the Quietfire Creations Blog, using one of the newly redesigned and cling mounted stamps.

Good morning and Happy Monday!  I can’t believe that it was a week before I was able to get back to my work desk.  First things first . . .  have you heard about Art on the Edge with Ken Oliver?  If not, let me feel you in.  Art on the Edge is a retreat that my friend, Ken Oliver, is hosting in his hometown of Newburgh, Indiana.  I for one am very excited . . . I’m going and I’m rooming with Heidi Blankenship and Debbie Seyer.  I’ve also found out that a few other of my Indiana crafty friends will be there, Gretchen Wilson and Joan Fricker!  I can’t wait to see everyone!

Ken has planned two classes for Saturday and has added an ICE Resin class on Friday night.  He’s also made arrangements with a few of the local merchants in Newburgh for us to visit and explore their shops.  I think there are still a few seats available if you are interested  . . . check it out here!

Now for my card today!  When I first saw the Quietfire Design stamp sets, one hit me right upside the head . . . Twirl & Enjoy.  It just sounds like fun, doesn’t it?  Immediately I thought of one of my favorite, older stamps from Art Impressions . . . Dotty.

It has been a very long time since I pulled Dotty off the shelf and added some ink . . . but she just fits the sentiment, “when in doubt twirl,” perfectly.

Dotty was colored with Copic Markers, then die cut/embossed and layered with Spellbinders A2 5×7 Matting Basics A and B.  The sentiment was stamped in Archival Jet Black and then die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Ovals.

Sadly I don’t think you can see it in the photo, but the background layer behind the image was made with media specialty paper that was colored with Copic Marker Refills and Blending Solution.  I wanted to pick up some of the color from Dotty’s dress in the background instead of keeping it white.

I guess that’s all for me right now.  I’ve got some errands to run this morning but I’m hoping to get back to my work table this afternoon.  There boxes of new product in my studio that need to be sorted through!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!!
