Happy Friday!  I hope you’ve had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.  I don’t know where this week has gone . . .  it was here, now it’s not!

Today’s colors for the Just For Fun® Color Challenge are:

JFFCC25

We would LOVE for you to play along with us!  If you don’t have any JFF stamps, that’s okay.  You can play along anyway . . . we just want you to have fun!  Plus, you might win a $50 shopping spree at Just For Fun® and then you can buy some stamps.  Check out all the details of the challenge over at the Just For Fun® Blog.

The Designers playing along this week are:

Broni Holcombe
Kat Tucker
Sandy Sandrus
Starla Nelson
Roni Johnson
Glenda Brooks
Beth Moore
Margarita Ybarra

I know they would love it if you stopped by their blogs to see what they came up with using these colors.

More my card today I decided on something simple using faux postage.  I saw Debby do this technique last weekend at Stampaway and decided I needed to try it again.  Instead of using the stencil brushes like Debby does (because I haven’t developed the knack for them yet), I use my Ranger ink blending tools.

There’s a fabulous tutorial on this technique on the Just For Fun® BlogFaux Postage.

That’s all I have today, but to say thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Good Friday morning!  Wow it’s hard to believe that Friday is upon us once again and the week seems like it flew by.  Of course I have been rather busy this week . . . . Master Planning and all!  That’s going to be a post for another day as it seems the Master Plan has grown some what . . . uh huh  . . .  and not by me!  Raised beds . . . pavers . . . . black mulch . . . . 6’ tall trees . . .  yep, lots to tell!

Okay we already know that it’s Friday and of course, that means that it’s Just For Fun® Friday.  This week the colors are

JFFCC20

We would love to have you play along with us!  You don’t have to use Just For Fun® stamps, especially if you don’t have any yet.  However, if you do play along, you might just be the lucky winner of a $50 shopping spree!   All you have to do is make a card/project using the above colors and post a direct link on the Just For Fun® Blog.

For further inspiration, you should also visit the blogs of the other Designers. They’ve got some awesome projects to share with you today.

These colors remind me of fall and pumpkins.  Even though it’s hot and humid right now, I couldn’t help myself on this one.  I even made a scene . . . . I can’t remember the last time I did that . ..  oh wait I did make a scene on the 4th, but I’m not talking about that type of scene.  I actually combined two different stamps, did some masking and then colored with Copic Markers.

Hey y’all! I’ve been buried in the studio for 2 days working non-stop and I’ve finally surfaced. I couldn’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on.

I’ll be teaching a Chunky Tag Art Class at Stampfest Orlando on Friday, June 18 at 9:00 am. I wanted to get my final sample and class piece done this weekend and I did it! Now I just have to finish up the kits and ship it all to Florida.

Remember this?

Good morning y’all.  How’s your week been?  I’ve been needing to go out and run errands all week, but I keep finding some reason not too.  Today it was the weather . . . just yucky.  Monday I got all showered, dressed, walked the dogs and then headed out to the garage.  Flat tire!  Tuesday I was able to get enough air in it and drive it up to the corner to have it plugged.  Thankfully there was just a roofing nail in the tire  . . . . and YES, I am blaming Mr. Stodgy.  He was the last to drive MY car on Friday when we went to dinner with the kids.  The rest of the days I was just too lazy and enjoyed the walking the shitzes more.  Today is my day . . . . I MUST venture out!

Today is also Just For Fun® Friday and Broni has challenged the Design Team (darn it all, one of these days something catchy is going to roll off my fingers and we will have a nickname).  If you have any ideas, please share them!

I know that Broni took her inspiration for these colors from Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk, so that’s what I decided to use as well.  Just For Fun® has some awesome lady images, here, here, here and sets here . . . they are bawdy, quite Marilyn Monroesque and very versatile.  I’ve had them set to the side to play with and I finally decided that this was the challenge . . .  we need a little Taintor-tude!  Suffice it to say, some of my best ideas for cards have been inspired by Anne Taintor.  I have been a fan for many years and her calendars  . . . well, I just LOVE them!  Remember the pecker cards?  Inspired by an Anne Taintor magnet that hangs in my studio!

I did something on this card, that I’ve never done before . . .  paper pieced!  Well, if I have I sure don’t remember it.  Her undies (and she is wearing some), blouse and hat are all paper pieced.  The rest of the image was colored with Copic Markers and even though you can’t see it, the background is airbrushed lightly in a pale yellow.  I stamped the sentiment 3 times and punched out the words that would fit in the word window punch with a little creative freedom!  The Graphic 45 paper and ribbon is from the Stamp Simply Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk Kit.

  • Stamps:  D2737 No Good Girls and G2757 Just a Breeze from Just For Fun® Rubber Stamps
  • Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Kraft; Teal; Graphic45 On the Boardwalk
  • Ink:  Ranger Archival Jet Black, Adirondack Pitch Black and Antique Linen Distress

Now that you’ve seen my challenge card, it’s your turn!  We would love for you to play along with us and post a direct link to your card on the Just For Fun® Blog.

Good morning!  I’m on the  move this morning having gotten up about 5:30 am.  Don’t ask me why, I don’t know why other than one of the pups came in whining.  I’ve had one pot of coffee, starting on the second and I’m in the studio.  Pretty amazing for me these days!

I actually started today’s Tag 7 of T!m’s Smiley from millan.net 12  Tags of Christmas last night.  I applied the stickles around 10 pm, and decided they needed to dry overnight so I turned off the lights, headed upstairs and finished the tag this morning.  Here’s  T!m’s Smiley from millan.net Tag 7.

Tag7

I decided to put the sentiment on a separate tag, and added some luscious silk May Arts Ribbon.  To highlight Santa’s beard and hat, I added some white Tulip Puffy Paint.  The tag is outlined with Gold paint and then I took an old toothbrush, dabbed it in the gold paint and splattered both the tag and sentiment panel.

  • Stamps:  Tim Holtz CollectionMini Holidays and Retro Holiday from Stampers Anonymous; Pollen Dust from Fancy Pants Designs; Lg Sheet Music from Stampington & Company
  • Paper:  Manila Shipping Tag
  • Ink:  Ranger Archival Jet Black and Distress Embossing, Old Paper, Shabby Shutters, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany
  • Accessories:  Spellbinders™ S5-014 Deckled Mega Rectangles – Small; Ranger Queen’s Gold Embossing Powder, Gold and Snow Cap Acrylic Paint Dabbers, Inkssentials Ink Blending Tools, Peeled Paint and Fired Brick Distress Stickles; Tim Holtz idea-ology Jump Ring, Mini Pins, Philosophy Tag; May Arts Ribbon; Offray Ribbon; Foam Mounting Tape; Toothbrush

As I write this, I was reminded of what my cousin and I used to call Santa.  For one of us it was Ho Ho and the other was Sin Cardy.  I forget now which was which, but my mother tells the story that we got into an argument one day about who was right and who was wrong.

That’s it for now!  Here’s hoping you have a fabulous day (even if there is snow where you are – none here and yes the neighbor’s tree is still standing) and thanks for stopping in!  Speaking of the neighbor’s tree . . . I decided that because I’m hoping it will fall so that I can redecorate, etc., it won’t.  That’s how my luck runs!
