I rarely do more than one post in a day, but I decided to stamp a little this morning and do today’s Color Challenge on Splitcoast.  The challenge today is monochromatic stamping.  How could I resist that challenge?  Of course, I’m still playing and if you can’t guess, I’m lovin’ this faux bleach technique!

CC182

The image was stamped and embossed, and then background was misted with different combinations of distress pearlized mists.  I even sprayed the background panels with the mists, but it’s a little hard to see in the photo.  It’s really glittery in real life . . . as are my fingers!  I even added a little Pearl Perfect Pearls on the sun to turn it into a moon!

Good Tuesday morning! Yes, I said Tuesday and you know what that means. Time for another Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker and another Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge. If you are new to the Treasure Hunt, you can find the first clue and all the deets and info on the Rubbernecker Home page. This week both Jeanne and Leigh are offering up some Rubbernecker blog candy. You’ll want to stop by for a visit for a chance to win a $10 Rubbernecker Bucks Gift Certificate!

Jeanne has an interesting Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge today. She wants us to use ribbon in non-traditional ways. I haven’t done mine yet, but will be back once I see what the SCS Color Challenge is. In the meantime, make sure you visit Jeanne’s blog, Inky Paws, for the challenge details. To see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge, please stop by the blogs of Broni, Tami, Candy, Kittie, Shelly and Linda.

I thought I would make it into the stamp room yesterday, but errands and Daughter #2, kept me busy. I’ll be back a little later with some stamping!

Okay, so I’m back! If anything could go wrong today, it would go wrong here! You know those days when you think you are going to have time for yourself, and then the dam breaks. Well, it’s one of those days around here. I won’t bore you with the details, let’s just say that this card has been done for a few hours and I wasn’t able to get it uploaded. Oh the heck with it. Mallory had to work today, leaving me with a list of phone calls that she should have made yesterday. Of course, that didn’t happen (which I’m sure wasn’t forgetfulness) and mom needed to make for her today – in her best whiney voice “I just don’t have time, I have to work.” Yeah right! Then 15 minutes after she left, my phone rings. “Mom I forgot to bring something with me . . . can you please bring it down to the pool.” Thinking that it would be a good idea to take the pups along with me, I load them in the car and off we go. I wasn’t half way there when Sydney decided to become a Nervous Nellie, climbed in my lap and then tried to go under the driver’s seat. That prompted a stop to toss both of them into the backseat, Sydney shaking like crazy. Wonder if she realized she has a vet appointment later this afternoon. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well anyway, I’m home now for a bit, and am going to try to get this done. Oh and by the way, I don’t think I like this card but hey . . . . I did get a challenge done finally! Actually this is for the SCS Color Challenge today. I don’t think my ribbon treatment qualifies for the Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge – it truly isn’t that unique and different. The colors today are Barely Banana, Groovy Guava and Chocolate Chip. My first thought was eeeeeeeewwwwwwww, but then I saw the sample and realized how great they truly are together. There might be more with these colors in my future.

CC174

I picked this Stamp Oasis image up in the booth at Orlando, and finally pulled it out of the bag today. It’s colored with Copic markers, the edges were sponged with Scattered Straw and then layered on Barely Banana and Chocolate Chip. For the background, I used Jeanne’s Birthday Word Panel stamped in Scattered Straw on Barely Banana. The edges of the background panel were sponged in Groovy Guava. I liked the look of the background so much that I decided just to add ribbon and no other layers.

Well, I’m back! I decided I needed to get a little stampy today and did the SCS Color Challenge. I was a little hesitant about the colors, but I must admit that they are terrific together. I would never have thought to put kraft with black and blue. I also have to tell you that I had forgotten how much I love to stamp with pigment ink. I now have all the new Ranger pigment inks, and they are quickly becoming a favorite. The dimension and vibrancy they add to a card are what I’ve forgotten about.

CC171

I stamped the backgrounds with Cloudy Blue pigment ink, but stamped the image panel with Cloudy Blue dye ink. The edges of the white panels are sponged with Latte. Both the image and sentiment panels are raised on mounting tape.

Well good afternoon! Hope everyone is having a good day so far. I’ve been quite busy myself, catching up on emails, phone calls, puppy watch, etc., and I still have tons more to do. It has felt good to get back in the stamp room after having five days off. Sometimes I think I need that refresher period. The only problem right now, is that I have so many projects that have time frames, and I’m just a tad behind at the moment. I need to catch up on what I can before the 19th. That’s when Jeanne flies in, we do the Epilepsy Walk (which, I am still taking donations for), and then we head out on our little road trip.

Last night I was able to get to the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge, using Real Red, So Saffron and Regal Rose.

CC170

I decided that I wanted to do a little color wash for this card, and applied a very light wash to a piece of watercolor paper. For the image, I colored the stamp with Real Red and Old Olive markers, misted with water and stamped on the still damp watercolor paper. I then colored in the open areas of the flower with Regal Rose marker. The edges of the image were sponged with So Saffron. For the background, I applied So Saffron reinker to a piece of Cut-n-Dry Felt and stamped over the So Saffron cardstock. For more dimension, the swirls were then stamped in Adirondack Snow Cap.

While I had these stamps out, I went ahead and did today’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge with them today.

SC180

I used the same swirls for this card, and stamped them in Snow Cap on the pink background panel, and then sponged the edges of all the background papers with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The only other stamping on this card, is that on the fragment.

sc180 FRAGMENT

I glued the fragment to a piece of the background paper, but it out, and then stamped the flowers in brown and the sentiment in black. The fragment is then raised on mounting tape.

Sherry

Good afternoon! I’m running a little behind today – as usual. I really overslept today and then so many other things needed my attention that it wasn’t until noon when I finally made it down to the stamp room. It just occurred to me that I have promised a few of you that I would do a tutorial of my demo tag at the shows. It’s on the way! I needed to restock some supplies. Anyhoo, I will be working on that over the next few days!

I have another Sneak Peek for you of the new Silhouette Florals from Rubbernecker today. I received so many emails from you guys yesterday telling me you saw them in the booth that you bought them, or that you have them on your list! An exciting time!! I’m still not going to tell you who the Designer is, you’ll know soon enough.

I combined yesterday’s Splitcoast Color Challenge and today’s Sketch Challenge for this card.

SC177

I applied a very light wash of Soft Sky to a piece of watercolor paper and while the paper was still damp, stamped the image. I colored the image with a Certainly Celery marker, applied Blue Bayou with a Fantastix, misted it with water and then stamped. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of the same watercolor paper. The edges of both were sponged with Soft Sky. My background paper is BasicGrey Periphery, which I also sponged the edges on.
