About

My name is Sherry Cheever and I like to think of myself as an artist.  My children would differ with me, however, and prefer to call me a crafter.  I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, but now call Jeffersonville, Indiana home. Even though we’ve moved around some, we’ve settled here on the Sunnyside of Louisville to raise our family and to be close to my family. I’ve been married to my husband, Lance, for 32 years and we have two beautiful daughters, 25 and 22.  My passions are my family, stamping, reading, automobile racing, and gardening.

I’ve been crafting all my life, starting as a little girl making potholders, painting, knitting, counted cross-stitch, etc., and eventually went on to minor in art while in college.   I seriously started stamping and paper crafting in September of 2005 and soon realized that I had found a creative outlet that let me work with my art background.  After working with a number of whimsical/cutesy images for a number of years, I found that my niche was really altered art and vintage projects, and I started making projects in a style that I love – vintage and/or distressed.  I’m at my creative best when I have ink on my fingers and I’m sanding away on a project.  I love taking new things and making them look old.  I also like to shop the junk stores and get very excited when I see an old wood box or shelf that I can alter.  I buy it when I see it, and keep a stockpile of alterables on hand at all times.
