Good morning!  How is everyone?  I must say that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting into the studio and just playing recently.  It’s been so long since I’ve done anything crafty just for the FUN of it!  Might have to be making a few changes just so I do feel like its fun and not so much work.

When I was at StampAway a week or so ago, I finally got to meet Pat Huntoon from Technique Junkies.  You know I’ve had hops with her, used her product and never had met her . . . I was so excited when I saw her sitting in her booth!   What I didn’t know was that she had joined forces with Stamp Camp (I actually have a number of stamps that I’ve picked up over the years from Stamp Camp . . .  I’m going to need to dig them out) and now you can purchase those stamps online at Technique Junkies Stamps/Stamp Camp.  While I was browsing Pat’s booth, I found a set of stamps that I absolutely had to have . . .  Things I Want To Do . . . which I’ve used for today’s project.

For those of you who have followed me for some time, know that I love Art Impressions Millie!  It’s been quite a long time since I’ve pulled Millie out and got her inky . . . but you see, when I first saw the set Things I Want To Do, I KNEW that they would be perfect with Millie!

Can I just say . . .  FUN!  Millie was colored with Copic Markers and then die cut/embossed with Spellbinders S5-171 A2 Curved Matting Basics A; the black background panel was die cut/embossed with S5-172 A2 Curved Matting Basics B.

The sentiment was stamped in Archival Jet Black, and then die cut/embossed with Spellbinders S4-367 Back to Basics Tags.

I went rummaging through my paper stash for something that would match Millie’s dress, and finally settled on an old pad of Circa 1934 by Cosmo Cricket.  Some of the scraps were distressed, inked and then stitched to a piece of black card stock.

I think you’ll be seeing more of this sentiment set with some of the other Art Impressions ladies!

  • Each of the companies will be giving away a prize randomly drawn from their designers’ blogs as follows:

EP: 25% discount on a future order
SNSS: $15 store credit
TJN: Great Gifts CD or any TJN CD of winner’s choice

For participation in the hop, I was sent the Great Gifts CD from Technique Junkies Newsletter,  Christmas Joy Stamp Set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps, and a package containing sheets from the Echo Park – Winter Wishes Collection, along with embellishments from eclectic Paperie.  I was asked to pick one project from the  Great Gifts CD to make and decided on the Candy Crayon Box.

I followed the tutorial on the CD for the Candy Crayon Box, then took liberties with the embellishments on the outside.

On the CD, the candy inside the box was Rollo’s, but since my favorite if good old Hershey’s Milk Chocolate . . .

I was able to cover two bars and make them fit without crowding the embellishments on the wrapper.

And one more of the candy inside.

That’s all for me and I hope you enjoy the hop and find some great gift ideas along the way!  Thanks for stopping by!
