I know they would love it if you stopped by their blogs to see what they came up with using these colors.
More my card today I decided on something simple using faux postage. I saw Debby do this technique last weekend at Stampaway and decided I needed to try it again. Instead of using the stencil brushes like Debby does (because I haven’t developed the knack for them yet), I use my Ranger ink blending tools.
There’s a fabulous tutorial on this technique on the Just For Fun® Blog – Faux Postage.
- Stamps: H2481 4+1 Faux Post and H2481T Faux Postage Template, C3331 Sprig, A2712 Small Dandelion, D3360 Leaf Sprig with Berries and F2716 Queen Anne’s Lace from Just For Fun® Rubber Stamps
- Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; River Rock; Suede; BasicGrey Mellow
- Ink: Ranger Archival Jet Black; and Antique Linen, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Brushed Corduroy, Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick, Wild Honey Distress Inks
- Accessories: 1.25” Rust 100% Silk May Arts Ribbon from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store; Foam Mounting Tape
That’s all I have today, but to say thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!
Good Friday morning! I have a number of thoughts running through my head at the moment. One in particular is a sentiment I saw the other day . . . Someday my cowboy will come. I like that . . . nope, I LOVE that sentiment! I think it will be on a card real soon! I wrote it on the white board above my desk so I wouldn’t forget . . . . I’m feeling BAD, very very BAD!!!!
I suppose I should get serious for a minute. Today is the Just For Fun® Friday Color Challenge after all! Now I have to admit that I picked the colors this week and I had a horrible time with them. Many, many ideas went into the trash and the one I really wanted to do . . . well, let’s just say that it didn’t work either.
We would love to have you play along with us! You don’t have to use Just For Fun® stamps, especially if you don’t have any yet. However, if you do play along, you might just be the lucky winner of a $50 shopping spree! All you have to do is make a card/project using the above colors and post a direct link on the Just For Fun® Blog.
For further inspiration, you should also visit the blogs of the other Designers. They’ve got some awesome projects to share with you today.

Since I bombed on my major idea, I thought it would be fun to try my hand at Faux Postage. If you’ve ever been to a stamp convention when JFF is there and you’ve stopped by the booth, you’ve seen the Faux Postage Demo. It is by far the best demo I’ve ever seen and I’ve never ever tried it. There’s a great tutorial on the Just For Fun® Blog that Sandy Sandrus did for us.
