Good Tuesday morning!  It is Tuesday isn’t it?  It has been a fast and furious few days around the Cheever Household.  There have been meetings, phone calls, planting more bushes and shrubs (only have 2 left), and even a few hours in the ER with Kate on Saturday.  I’ve had some time sensitive projects to get done, one being the video and tutorial that will go live on Splitcoaststampers tomorrow, plus some Spellbinders™ stuff that needed to be done quickly.

I had a phone call on Saturday from Sharon at Sharon’s Crop Studio in Greenwood, Indiana and we set some dates for me to teach a few classes.  I’ll be there the first weekend in October!  One class I know for sure will be a 2×4 Chunky Tag.  The others I’ll be able to gather more information on after this weekend.  Busy, busy weekend coming up.  Saturday is Stampaway in Cincinnati, Ohio and then Sunday is the Induction for the Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame.  I’m so proud for my dad and uncle to both be inducted this year.

I’m sure you’re wondering by now what’s up today.  Its a Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Design Team Hop and the theme is Autumn Splendor.

There are a number of things that come to mind when I think of Autumn . . . family reunions, the start of school, harvest times, Thanksgiving and one of my most favorite, Halloween.

There’s no stamping or sewing on this card, only the Graphic 45 Halloween papers.  A couple of the pages in the pad have these great images that make perfect quick and easy cards.

  • Paper:  Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland* – Through the Looking Glass and You’re Late; Black; Cream
  • Accessories:  1.25” Rust 100% Silk May Arts Ribbon*; Brads; Foam Mounting Tape

Of course, you’ll want to visit the other designers participating today and leave them some comments.  I know you’ll want a chance to win the blog candy, which you’ll find listed on Sharon’s blog.

Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, so take advantage of the adventures that come your way today.  Me?  I’m going to The Jersey Boys tonight with my mom and sister!

It’s Dare to Get Dirty Week at Splitcoaststampers!  If you’re a Fan Club Member this is your chance to play along with Dirty Girls, past and present, in a ton of fun challenges.  If you’re not a Fan Club Member, this is the perfect time to become one!   (You can get all the info you need at the previous links.)

We’d love to have you play with us this week!  There are 33 challenges to choose from – play one or play them all!

My project today is a sample that I’ve created for Sharon Johnson’s challenge.  You can find all the details about the challenge here!

SherryCheeverDTGDSharonJohnsonJuly20(4)

I started with a chipboard page from a Maya Road book, and covered it with designer paper.  All the flowers are made using Spellbinders die templates and Grunge Paper.  I covered the Grunge Paper with designer paper before any die cutting.  The leaves are made from Grunge Board and inked in Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  I stamped the word Dream separately from the rest of the sentiment and put it in an Ornate Plate.  From there I covered the word with Glossy Accents to make a dimensional front to the Ornate Plate.  The hanger is made from florist wire held by the back of the brads.  Actually, everything on this project is covered with designer paper that has either been applied to chipboard or Grunge Paper.  Way too much fun!!!!!!!!.

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  I have one more Dirty sample tomorrow . . . . I made it for a challenge by Debbie Fisher.

Smiley from millan.net Good morning and happy Tuesday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend (even if it was a tad short).  I have a burr up my butt (as Mr. Stodgy Smiley from millan.net says and yes he really does dance like this) about landscaping the back yard.  Now granted I’ve done nothing but sit in my recliner on my butt for a few years now.  Depression can be a killer!  All of a sudden I feel great and I want to work outside and get some things done.  Yesterday I decided to tackle the dog run in the back.  We don’t have any big dogs anymore and it’s taking up too much space.  It’s all down except for two posts which I just could not get out of the ground.  I’ll have some pictures later . . . some before and after.  There are some wild Trumpet Vines in the boulevard and the dog run was in my way of where I want to plant them.  I’ll be digging them up later this morning when its cooler.

Oh I might add that Smiley from millan.net was a little upset with me.Smiley from millan.net  He thinks my neighbor and I are collaborating on making our back yard a jungle.  (I can only wish . . .  I LOVE Michaels back yard.)  He wanted to know my master plan and was actually perturbed that I did something he’s been wanting to do for months and months.  He also let me know that the outside of the house needs staining, the deck needs to be cleaned and why in the hell did I take down the dog run instead of dusting?  After a few minutes of steam coming out of my ears Smiley from millan.net, I said to him “don’t you think you should be happy that I actually feel well and wanted to get outside.  At least I wasn’t sitting on my ass!”  He had to stop and think  . . . and then I insisted we go outside and TALK about this master plan.  Gee wiz it appears we were on the same wave length . . . . Smiley from millan.net

This story could go on and on, so let me end here for the day.  Moving On  . . . .

It’s Stamp Simply Ribbon Store blog hop today!!!!!!!  This month we have been challenged to use a Rubber Soul/Wordsworth Remembering set.  I jumped because I absolutely LOVE the Wordsworth Remembering sets . . . . I know, I know . . .  I’ve mentioned that before!

There is Blog Hop Candy today too.  It’s a Wordsworth set, Webster’s Paper Pack and some ribbon to coordinate.  You’ll need to check out Sharon Johnson’s blog to see the picture!  While you’re at it go ahead and visit the other Designers who are playing along today.

SherryCheeverSSRSBlogHopJuly13(3)

It’s a Maya Road Chipboard piece that I altered with Webster’s Pages and some Grunge Paper.  The flower is made with Spellbinders™ Sunflower and the sentiment was die cut/embossed with Labels Eleven.

So thanks for stopping by and remember  . . . . life is short, do what you damn well want to do!

Smiley from millan.net Happy Saturday!  I hope you’ve had a good week so far and you’re ready for the weekend.  I don’t have any great plans myself.  Mr. Stodgy and the girls have gone to the Indy Children’s Museum today.  Can you believe it . . . . 20 something’s wanting to go see the Barbie Exhibit?  Plus, they’re dragging their dad along.  They asked me to go, but quite frankly I’d rather stay here and either get some work done outside or play in the studio.  I’m voting play in the studio . . . but if it is a little cooler outside . . . I might be digging up some wild trumpet vines from the boulevard.  I have this crazy idea that if I can get to live, then I can make a screen for the hot tub. Smiley from millan.net  I really need to get them dug up before one of the neighbors decides to mow them down.  (Not likely because it hasn’t been mowed in months, but  . . . wishful thinking I guess.)

You know how last Saturday I was the lone hopper in the Stamp Simply Hop. Smiley from millan.net We were to use our Go-To Layout.  Well . . . this week Sharon is once again having the same challenge (don’t tell anyone, but it’s because they all didn’t get their stuff done last Saturday).  Instead of having Sharon only link to last week’s card, I decided to make one more.

Of course, I do have different go-to layouts as I’m sure we all do.  The one I’m using today is actually a sketch that came from the very first Dirty Dozen Dare To Get Dirty Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  You can see it here.  Picture it . . . 2007 and the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club was 3 years old . . . we needed to celebrate.  All the DD past and present got together and presented a week of challenges to the Fan Club Members.  It was fabulous and Dare to Get Dirty 2010 is only a few days away – July 17.  Anyhoo, I’ve loved this sketch ever since and at one time used it so much that all my uploads were beginning to look the same.

Some of my favorite paper, a little saying and some dimensional flowers . . . . oh yeah.

Well, I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.  I’m off to see what type of adventures I get into today . . . remember I’m feeling a little BAD!!!!!

Edited:  I had set this post to go live this morning, and the Hop was postponed after I went to bed.  Sorry for the inconvenience!  The rest of the girls will be back next Saturday with their Go To Layouts.  I may even have another of my own.

Good Saturday morning!  If you’ve already started your holiday weekend, I hope you are being good.  I’m heading to Downtown Jeff today for the parade.  My sorority sisters and I will be on the Boat Float today! One of our sisters has a pontoon boat that we will be decorating and riding in while her husband drives us down the street. Of course that’s not anything new for us. Typically when we go out on the boat we gather at their house, and we ladies ride down to the river in the boat! Way too much . . . good times! Hopefully I’ll get some great pictures today.

Today is also the Stamp Simply Blog Hop. It’s all about quick cards using our go to layout and making the type of card we always seem to need. As I look back over my last few weeks of uploads, I think this is definitely my go to layout. I really could broaden my scope of layouts. Even though the ribbon and the border may be in a different spot, it’s for sure the same layout over and over and over.

For me, I seem to make all occasion cards. I leave the inside blank and then my mother, sister or aunt can request a stamp to go inside. They get most of my cards as I’m not very good at sending many out.

OMG, I’ve just admitted how BAD I truly can be!

Anyhoo, here’s my card.

SherryCheeverSSRSBlogHopJuly3

I used some of my new Wordsworth stamps (geesh I LOVE these sentiments) and stitched some Queen Bee paper to a cardstock backing. This time I tied the bow (and NO, I do not use a Bow Easy . . . it’s like tying your shoes . . . every Girl Scout knows how to tie a square knot) at the bottom and inserted a decorative pin.

Please check out the other Go To Layouts on the following blogs:

Thanks for stopping by today and I KNOW you are going to have plenty of adventures this holiday weekend!
