Y’all know how I’ve been wanting some images of cowgirls, right?  Well, I found some!!  When I went to StampAway a couple of weekends ago, the first booth I went into was Artful Illusions.  It’s my favorite booth and I spend most of my time there.  For those of you who attend the show . . . you know the one I’m talking about  . . . first floor, first booth when you walk in the door!

Friday night before the show, I was browsing the vendors who were going to be there and decided to check out some websites.  Surprisingly enough, Artful Illusions finally started a site and I was able to download the stamp catalog.  There, in the catalog, was a section  . . . Cowgirls . . . . oh my BADness, I was drooling!  Needless to say, my first stop I spent half my shopping funds and I purchased a few cowgirl images . . . along with some other things.

I found myself yesterday with no pressing time frames or deadlines . . . highly unusual actually!  It was a perfect time to break out some of my new rubber and have some fun . . . just for myself stamping!  It’s always the best creating process in my opinion.

Here’s what I came up with . . . a new wall hanging for my studio!

WalkOnTheWildSide

OH and what inspired this wall hanging along with the cowgirl images . . . Cosmo Cricket Wanted in 6×6 Mini Pads!  YES, you read correctly!!!!!!  Cosmo Cricket was brought back the Wanted paper and it’s in 6×6 pads.  I no longer need to hoard my Wanted paper . . . . so guess what?  I used it for the wall hanging.  You can bet your booty that I will be ordering a few pads of this paper from eclectic Paperie!

You can see my two new cowgirl images on the left.  They were stamped and embossed in black Distress Embossing Powder for that aged look.  The sentiment on the tag is a new set by Wendy Vecchi and Studio 490 that my friend Daisy brought me at CHA.  I added some Spiced Marmalade Distress Stickles to the flowers just for the heck of it and to add a little shimmer to the project.

I’m rather tickled with the whole project and love how it turned out!  Isn’t it great to do some FUN stamping!

That’s all for today . . . thanks for stopping by and remember . . .  life is short, take advantage of the adventures that come your way!

SHERRY SIGNATURE

Good morning!  Well, I finally did it  . . . I got all 12 tags completed.  I had such a wonderful time creating each and every tag.  I have to say that doing this project has completely rejuvenated me and I have new ideas flowing.  That’s a good thing!

Here’s T!m’s Smiley from millan.net Tag 12 and mine is below.

Tag12

The background was made with the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique using Broken China and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.  Gold Perfect Pearls mixed with water was then sprayed over the tag and dried.  I copied a page from one of my old Hymnals that was torn and halved already.  I completed the look by distressing the edges and sponging with Vintage Photo.  The flourish was stamped over the background and the music in gold acrylic paint.  Using a piece of the music paper, I stamped the sentiment “let there be Peace” and embossed it in gold.  A Memory Capsule was filled with gold beads and put in front of the sentiment.

The flower was made using my Faux Porcelain Technique using Cranberry Crisp paper and Grunge Paper.  I actually made the first flowers with Grunge Paper and they came out so dark (because I couldn’t decided on the color and kept playing) that I went with regular cover stock.  The leaves are made from Grunge Paper that was colored by misting with a Shabby Shutters/Forever Green Pearlized Distress Mist.

The background was made with the Wrinkle-Free Distress Technique, using Broken China and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.  After the background dried, it was misted with Gold Perfect Pearls and water.  The reindeer is Grunge Board that I misted with Gold/Vintage Photo Pearlized Distress Mist and let it soak into the Grunge Board.  The holly was done the same way and the berries are Taylor’s Tiny Twinkles from Taylored Expressions, adhered with a bit of Fired Brick Distress Stickles.  The silk flowers were covered with Rock Candy and Fired Brick Distress Stickles.   For added interested I stamped the reindeer and the background in gold acrylic paint with flourishes.

Happy Tuesday!  I’d say good morning, but my morning passed before I hit the floor this morning.  Well not really, but by the time I got the coffee going, the pups out and then Mr. Stodgy came in and interrupted my crossword puzzle . . .  it was noon.

As I continue on with T!m’s Smiley from millan.net 12  Tags of Christmas I’m having more and more fun.  Today I have Tag 5 for you  . . . and here’s T!m’s Smiley from millan.net Tag 5.

Tag5

I used copper foil for the top and bottom pieces, die cutting/embossing with Spellbinders™ Classic Lace Border.  To tone down the bright look of the copper, I added some alcohol inks and then brushed on Green Patina Perfect Pearls.  The ornaments are made from Graphic 45 paper.  Even though I forgot to add the copper foil to two of the ornaments (oops), I went around the edges with gold paint.  This was a fun tag to work on!
