I’ve been meaning to post this project for weeks now and just haven’t had the time to do it.  So I figure since today is gloomy and we are inside once again, no time like the present.

I was contacted by a friend to make something special for her sister’s birthday, which was days away from Christmas.  We talked about sentiments, colors, card or plaque, etc., and finally settled on something that she could set out and display.

Here’s what I came up with and I’ve been told that my friend’s sister loved the gift!  (By the way, if you click on the photos it will enlarge them and make them clearer!)

SisterPlaque

The plaque measures a little over 5×7 and is placed on a frame easel back.

The sentiment was one found by my friend, which was typed and die cut/embossed with ovals.

The flowers surrounding the sentiment are from Prima which I felt matched the paper (MME Lost & Found Rosy) and were in the shades of earth tones.

I love it when someone asks me to make a special gift for them and I have one more to show you that I worked on for my Great-Aunt’s 70th Wedding Anniversary . . . coming soon!

Good morning all!  I hope everyone has had a good month so far and you are looking forward to the holidays.  We are looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with the Cheever brothers and their families and then decorating for Christmas.  Mallory has been busy making wreaths while I’ve been chasing Hadlee around the house.  I’ve been wearing an activity tracker for over a month now and I can sure tell by my tracker the days we’ve had the baby!

I have to tell you that the old mojo has run off and disappeared!  Perhaps it’s not only the mojo but also the desire to create . . . burn out maybe . . .  or just lack of inspiration . . . I don’t know what it is quite honestly.  I can feel a shift coming on and I’m not quite sure where it is going to take me.

I have a project up on the Quietfire Creations Blog today, and in trying to get things started up again, I stayed with something simple . . . making some of my favorite snowflakes.

You can see more photos and get all the details on the Quietfire Creations Blog. Please hop over there and check it out!

Thanks for stopping by today and hopefully I’m going to find something to pull me back into the studio today!

Good morning!  Oh my BADness,  too much time went by without me posting anything.  I got so sidetracked with the baby last week (a little fussy, a little sick and a whole lot spoiled) that I never made it into the studio for very long at any given time.

Two things today!  First, I have posted a Valentine’s Day card over the Quietfire Creations Blog.

To see more pictures and get all the details, you’ll need to visit the Quietfire Creations Blog.

Secondly!  Quietfire has announced the 4th Annual Queen of Hearts Challenge! Check it out while you’re over there . . . lots of prizes, a Blog Hop, awards . . . just a whole lot of fun!

So that it’s for me right now!  I’ve got a mixed media project in process and can’t wait to share it with you . . . hopefully within the next few days!
