Good morning!  Smiley from millan.net I can’t believe it’s 10:00 a.m., and I’ve already finished one card.  That doesn’t say much because I need to prepare to Stamp Club tomorrow morning.  It would help if I knew what I was going to do with them.  Yesterday’s shopping trip was an adventure in itself.  I did find a few old books and a shelf for the studio, at the consignment shop we went to first.  The shop is different from most that I’ve been in.  It’s all household items, i.e., furniture, tables, pictures, books, etc.  We found out while there that when interior designers (like my mother’s), get rid of old furniture, that’s where they send it.  Pretty cool!  We also stopped at Goodwill, Tuesday Morning, and then made a trip to Bernie’s Bargain Barn.  Now Bernie’s, is only a few miles from the house, but the rest of the Howell Women had never been there.  I’ll need to go back another day when I have plenty of time to browse through all the antiques and collectibles.  There were a few items that interested me, but we didn’t have the van!

I know I’ve been absent for a few days.  Haven’t felt much like stamping let alone even venture into the studio.  The other night, maybe Tuesday, I was sitting out on the deck with the dogs when the hummingbirds started zooming in.  I quickly ran in to get my camera and plopped myself down being as quiet as I could be.  Here’s just one of the many pictures I was able to take.

Then I couldn’t help myself and snapped this picture of Miss Ellie.

Enough of my babble, let’s get to today’s card.  I’ve been meaning to play in the SCS Challenges all week.  However, as I said earlier it just hasn’t been in the stars for me this week.  I guess knowing that I must be in the studio today.  I got an early start.  I checked today’s Limited Supply Challenge, which was to use the color orange and a coffee image, and new I had new stamps that would work.  Let’s call this my warm up for today – it all went together so nicely.

I have been drooling over this stamp set from Impression Obsession for months and months.  Every time I’m at a show they are, they’re sold out before I can get to the booth.  Luckily while at the Cincinnati StampAway, I got there early enough that they still had it and today is the first day it has seen ink.  I was inspired by all the fabulous coffee mugs I saw at Tuesday Morning yesterday.  It took all I had not to load a bunch in the cart.

  • Stamps: Smell the Coffee from Impression Obsession
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; SU Basic Black
  • Ink: Tsukineko Brilliance Graphite Black
  • Accessories: Copic Markers; Spellbinders Wizard, Plain and Scalloped Oval Nestabilities; Cuttlebug  D’vine Swirl Embossing Folder; Venture Foam Mounting Tape; Ribbon

Have a great day today!  I’m off to prepare for Stamp Club.  Oh and hey — don’t forget that Rubbernecker has the Spellbinder’s Nesties on sale this week!

Good morning! We are into Day 3 of the Lizzie Anne Designs’ Summer Release Sneak Peek! Don’t forget to visit Tricia’s Blog, Letters from Lizzie, and Meridith’s Blog, Little Treasures. Not only will they have some sneak peeks for you, but they also will be linking other Design Team members who do. This is the last sneak peek I have for you. I’m off to Chicago and CHA this morning! I’ll be blogging from there the rest of the week.

Today’s card is made with the new set, Holiday Lane. I’ve only used one of the images from the set, but I can envision a fabulous street scene. Once I’m back from CHA, I’ll be working on that for you!

LAD Holiday Lane Preview

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and painted the image with reinkers. To make some snow, I dabbed on Tulip White Puffy Paint and then heat set. I pulled out some of my favorite holiday paper, BasicGrey Figgy, for the background. I couldn’t resist using the sentiment “Up on the housetop . . .” because of Santa’s sleigh on the roof and his boots caught in the chimney!

  • Stamps: Holiday Lane from Lizzie Anne Designs
  • Paper: Canson 120 lb Watercolor; SU Soft Sky and Basic Gray; BasicGrey Figgy
  • Ink: Tsukineko Brilliance Graphite Black; Ranger Tim Holtz Weathered Wood, Broken China, Mustard Seed, Fired Brick, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Faded Denim Distress, Archival Jet Black
  • Accessories: Spellbinders Square Nestabilities; Word Window Punch; Ranger Distress Reinkers; Tulip White Puffy Paint; Water brush; Tsukineko Sponge Dauber; Mounting Tape; Brads; Ribbon

I hope you have a great day, and maybe I’ll have pictures with Tim Holtz tomorrow! Oh yeah . . . . while everyone else is taking the Copic Class, Jeanne and I will be in with Tim Holtz!
